(Final 8/12)The WILDEST Ride in the Wilderness!" Princess Half Marathon TR/Feb.2014

Great update!

Congrats on the 5k. Looks like you two had a great time! Love how festive you are!!!!

As always, beautiful pictures!!!

Eleanor looks so happy with Eeyore!

Thank you! We had a good time yesterday and it was beautiful...today...snow! Crazy weather!

The area around Crystal Palace is gorgeous and you captured it so well :goodvibes

I like Eleanor and Savannah's matching tops. so cute :cutie:

looks like Eleanor really liked Pooh the best. She had a huge smile on her face hugging him :goodvibes

You and Rey looked cute all done up for St Patty's Day :thumbsup2

Thanks! The girls both ended up liking the face characters best, I'll talk about that later, it was really interesting b/c usually Savannah likes the non-face characters better! We saw Pooh again as well on our last day! :)

Looked like the 5K was fun!

Beautiful pics!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Great shots, as always. I like the where Pooh is giving Savannah a hug & she's just peeking out over his arms.

Food looks yummy as well- we have not eaten at Crystal Palace for breakfast since 2008.

And of course I stared now at your b##bs because you pointed it out & had to giggle because every shot after that you are hunched a little over or have strategic arm placement........ :lmao: Had you said nothing...no one would have ever noticed........ :rolleyes1

:lmao: AND, the bra I had was uncomfortable, but you can bet I wore it the rest of the trip (as you will now check me out in every shot!) :p

I came home and went straight to the store and bought 4 new bras. :rotfl:

Sounds like a great breakfast. I think the flower is called a "Bird of Paradise".

Hey Jodi!! I swear you have read every single TR of mine, haven't you? That's some dedication to get through all my rambling! ;) [/QUOTE]

Yep, I'm a super stalker!! I love trips reports. It helps keep me close to the magic :goodvibes

Just found your report and read through the whole thing (so far) this morning :)

I ran the 10K, and was at the expo at the same time as you! Looked for myself in your pictures, but didn't spot me :goodvibes Great report so far, looking forward to the race update - thinking of doing the half next year, but don't know if I could pull it off....

Thanks! Somewhere in my head I knew that! Name matches how it looks! :thumbsup2

Hey superstalker!! Love it! I don't read nearly as many as I should, it's a really great way to keep the magic alive when you can't be there. :lovestruc

I have done the same thing when I am looking through race pictures on reports, looking for myself! ;) You can TOTALLY DO IT!!!!! :thumbsup2 If you did the 10K, you are nearly halfway there and you have 11 months to train. Last year my first 10K was in June and I was ready for the half when it rolled around. You should totally sign up! :goodvibes

yummy for the tummy...great breakfast with Pooh...can't miss pooh's puffed toast or the breakfast lasgna! I simply hate how they have the characters set up between 8 am-9 am. Most people want to get out of CP before rope drop...and they way they have the characters, you can't do it! We waited for Tigger...UGH! Made me so mad to get behind the crowds!

Love the castle and flowers photos...and the castle and you!

Love the St. Patty's run picture...

I think once or twice we were able to see them all and get out right at rope drop, but I think it depends on your table placement! The girls were excited for rides, and I'm glad we didn't wait. Rope drop was worth it! (update coming up!)

Oh how I love thee rope drop! Let me count the ways...

Ok, I'm not gonna count. Let's just say that I am a huge fan. I can hit rope drop and feel like I've done nearly everything I want by lunch and leave the parks as hoards of people are coming in. then I lay at the pool and drink margaritas...but I digress...

With full bellies and a lovely morning with clouds but no rain, we headed through the castle to Fantasyland. This is where we always do RD at MK. It's a must because I refuse to wait in long lines and luckily I don't have to at RD! (Oh, did I mention I love rope drop???) :rolleyes1

First, I had to be a goof and show the girls where I would be running the following morning! I'm going to RUN THROUGH THERE!!!!!!!
WDWPrincesshalf00144.jpg

and apparently this is what I look like when I'm about to hit rope drop. I didn't realize I looked like this, but Savannah says this is my face 90% of the time when at Disney. :lmao:
WDWPrincesshalf00145.jpg

I also believe that is the last shot you will see without proper girl-support

Savannah decided to follow Eleanor through the castle with the camera...

Ahhhhh...love me some castle!
WDWPrincesshalf00152.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00153.jpg

Through the castle and right up to the rope! We were a few minutes early, but it didn't take long.
WDWPrincesshalf00155.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00156.jpg

Ah, a site for sore eyes. Fantasyland empty! Love it.
WDWPrincesshalf00157.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00158.jpg

and we were off! Now, you would think we would head to something like Peter Pan (ahem...my favorite in Fantasyland) but I had gotten a FP+ for that because I knew that Savannah would make a b-line for Dumbo. Our very first trip in 2008, it was her first ride...like EVER...yes, I deprived my child and she had never been on an amusement ride of any kind until she was nearly 8. We live in an area where the fair has rusty, rickety old rides, I just had not taken her anywhere with a ride. Sooooooooo...when we went to WDW with friends, this is the first ride they went on. (that was back when it was right there when you entered Fantasyland). She LOVED it! I thought she might be afraid because she was afraid of everything when she was young, but when she realized she could move Dumbo up and down she went NUTS and I still remember that look of joy on her face. :lovestruc

I'm telling you this because that is why we MUST do Dumbo first, every trip, without a shadow of a doubt. The girl could care less what empty line she passes as she bolts to Dumbo first every time. So that's what we did!
and naturally, since it was rope drop, we walked right on. In fact, we were the only people AT.ALL. on Dumbo!

WDWPrincesshalf00161.jpg

remember...no dancing!
WDWPrincesshalf00162.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00163.jpg

FINALLY! Eleanor's first ride at Disney...

WDWPrincesshalf00165.jpg

I love how Savannah was watching her reaction and wanting her to love it too. :lovestruc
WDWPrincesshalf00166.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00167.jpg

continued in the next post since I seem to have too many photos! Go figure! :rolleyes1

I find it amusing that we are on the first ride and I've had to make this into two posts b/c I have too many photos. ;)

WDWPrincesshalf00170.jpg

What happens at rope drop when you are the only people on Dumbo??? They ask if you want to ride again! YES PLEASE!!!!!
WDWPrincesshalf00171.jpg

WDWPrincesshalf00172.jpg

at some point I may or may not have tweeted about tweeting while riding Dumbo. Just sayin'. :rolleyes2

We decided to get off and head to another empty line...
WDWPrincesshalf00173.jpg

walked right on...
WDWPrincesshalf00174.jpg

Savannah has arms coming out of her head. :p
WDWPrincesshalf00175.jpg

Fun, fun! Savannah & I had devised a plan to build Eleanor up on the roller coasters and Barnstormer went over well! Next in line to build her up would be Big Thunder, but first, we had to enjoy the rest of rope drop in Fantasyland!

I periodically take photos of the ground at WDW. Where else can you look at the ground and even see theming??
WDWPrincesshalf00176.jpg

Up next...walked right on again, btw (have I mentioned that I love rope drop???)
WDWPrincesshalf00177.jpg

hefalumps and whoosles!
WDWPrincesshalf00178.jpg

Teacups were next! Again with the no waiting. :hyper:
WDWPrincesshalf00179.jpg

I have a million photos from the tea cups, so that will have to wait until the next update.

Up next...have I mentioned that I love rope drop?!?! ;) I don't think I have.

I love rope drop too!!!!

I love empty Fantasyland!

I love the sidewalk in the circus area.

I love the quality of your pictures & wish mine turned out that good!

I love the Dumbo pictures! And the hands coming out of Savannah's head!

I love the picture of Savannah looking to see Eleanor's reaction.

I love the fact that you made me stare at your b##bs again- by mentioning it..again.

Lots of love for you this morning! Great update. :thumbsup2

So, I'm just wondering.....do you love rope drop? popcorn::

I don't know?!?!? :lmao:

Aww, you love me, you really love me!

I love that you not only accept, but join in my obsessive planning for a trip 11 months from now! I had a dream about our costumes last night. Nope, apparently I have no life aside from this race. :lmao:

What a great update! I am very happy that you "had" to break up the posts. You can never use too many pictures! I have always adored all of your photos. You are very skilled!

That is super sweet that you went on dumbo first as your tradition. And that now that can be Eleanor's tradition :)

Can't wait for more!

Thanks Ann! It's funny, Savannah has so many traditions at WDW, all of them are based on that first trip she ever took. :lovestruc

It's a special twinsie from other mother love!

We both already have dreams about the trip.. and being late & costumes. We be cray cray!!! But it's the BEST kind of crazy to be!!! And oh, so fun!

I have no idea what life is anyways outside this board & FB. Work, kids, hubby- they are ALL getting in the way of my computer time. I think I have a problem! Ha!

I KNOW I have a problem! They say acknowledging the problem is a good first step...hope it's enough to be the only step b/c I don't see my time on the computer diminishing anytime soon! :lmao:

Seriously...do you remember the adults on Charlie Brown? You know when they would talk and it would just sound like "WAH-WAH-WA-WA-WAH..."??? That's what my family sounds like when I'm on the computer. :rotfl2:

I will take this time to admit several times in the last few weeks when it's a school night and I realize at 10pm that I forgot to put my two older ones to sleep. You know- the 8 &11 year old. During State Standardized testing week when the teacher sent home all that paperwork that says "good nights rest & eat healthy".

My kids are up at 10, watching TV, eating ice-cream. Because mommy's on the damn computer! :rolleyes1

And for the record, I think the ONLY step is admitting it. There's no use going any further than that!
