Filtered Water?

I usually drink water with meals, but can only drink it if it's filtered (health reasons). Does anyone know if the QS and TS locations have filtered water? Also, will do you know if I can get refills throughout the park between meals? I just want to know if I need to bring a case or two with me on the trip.

Thanks!

1. Yes, it's filtered.
2. you can walk up to the counter where they serve the food at any CS location and ask for a cup of water.
3. We did on our first trip (because everyone said it was necessary) and it was a complete waste. We ended up giving 23 bottles of water to the housekeeper.

Anywhere with a soda fountain will have filtered water...so that's pretty much everywhere. Only the water fountains and such would be unfiltered.

Thanks for the quick responses! I am happy they filter. It will make things much easier.

everything at disney is filtered, even the drinking fountains.. It may not be filtered to your desire though so consider bringing one of those water bottles with a filter in it to ensure it's to your needs..

Now when the water isn't filtered, you'll know as it's the same as a swimming pool. You can't mistake the chlorine taste from tap water in this area.

If you can't drink regular tap water for health reasons, you probably shouldn't risk drinking the water from the water fountains and faucets at WDW. They may be 'filtered' but they aren't filtered thoroughly, as the water still has the swampy taste found down south. We use bobbles and find that a fresh filter does a great job at WDW.

Have you tried a Brita water bottle with a filter on it? My husband and I bought two 22 oz bottles for our trip and they were perfect. We filled them at any water fountain and had great water all day long. We didn't have to carry around multiple bottles or pay the in park price for bottled water.

This may sound crazy, but each parks water fountains water has a different level of "nasty". I don't notice any more off taste in Epcot or Studios than here off the Detroit supply. But AK and especially MK taste foul. As was mentioned, from the counter service places, you should be fine. But if you have a Marshalls/TJMaxx/HomeGoods near you they almost always have bobbles at a couple bucks off and it could be worth it for you? I have a bobble and a brita bottle and other than the little bit of water you get for the effort of getting through the filter per sip I like em.

There are some water fountains that still aren't filtered.

Not health related (because I have no way to know about that), but I agree with the above about variety in taste between the parks. Just last week, we were pleasantly surprised by the free cups of ice water at Epcot and HS. And then we tried MK - it was awful. At every location. I have no idea why there was such a difference.

I think the QS and TS are filtered. However, I have gotten water from some that tasted bad. I don't know if the filters are old or if the water was just so bad the taste couldn't be filtered. Although, I have gotten good and bad water on the same day in the same parks from QS. I wonder if they sometimes gave me tap water. The fountains may be filtered, but once the water gets slightly warm, it gets really nasty tasting. I would definitely consider bringing your own for safety sake.

Completely agree that MK water is awful, though we're fine with it at other parks! The ice seems OK, so we actually bring in our own extra water at MK and request cups of ice only - no water throughout the day.

I used to live in Florida and I would never drink a glass of Florida tap water. It just tastes bad, plus I am allergic to chlorine. I buy bottled water at Disney.

Thanks for all of the replies! It sounds like bringing my own water might be the better bet. Ms_Butterfly - I'm allergic to chlorine too! I've never met someone else who was. That allergy plus a wonky immune system can really throw me for a loop when traveling.

Yes! I bought 3 for less than $8 each and they are fantastic. They completely cut that bad Florida water taste out. We would go to CS and ask for ice water and dump it in our bottle. We carry them with us every trip.

I've found that if they have pre filled cups of water it's more likely to taste like tap water (very distinct taste) I imagine they had cups with ice sitting on the trays that they filled not from the fountain but instead filled a pitcher from the tap then poured into the cups.

Pretty much if they hand me a pre filled cup I move on.

I was there Thursday and got a prefilled at Caseys. I've got water there before which they filled as ordered and it's tasted fine. Not this time. Tasted really bad but the heat was so bad I just made myself drink it.

What do you do with the cup of water, just throw it out?

If I can see they tray of prefilled or I see them handing out pre fills I just don't ask. If they hand me a prefilled I taste it, if it tastes bad I pour off the water and keep any ice. or if it's as hot as it was Thursday I just chug it down and get better water at another location. I have gotten a few that were so bad I did just pour it into a planter. Haha

The tap water isn't bad for you it just doesn't taste nice.

I carry a refillable so whenever possible I just go to a location that I can walk up and get my own water. That way I don't have to worry about it.

I've asked a few cast members on my last trip and they assured me that everything was filtered now. But when they gave me a cup of water it still had that Florida water smell (kind of like sulfur?) and taste. Like others are saying it may be filtered but not as well as filters you may have at home. I would play it safe and get bottled water.
