Filtered water at refill stations @ DVC resorts & parks?

We are excited to be coming soon to WDW and staying at Kidani with friends and family. One thing we are concerned about is drinking lots of water during our trip - our favorite beverage! We are hoping not to have to ship out a Brita water filter dispenser, but will if have to. Does anyone know if the refill stations have filtered water, fresh coffee and fresh brewed tea as options? Or do the refill stations just carry sodas? Where at the resorts are the refill stations and are they also in the parks too?

The refill station at the Kidani gift shop has pop, water and some kind of sweet tea. I don't know about coffee since I'm not a coffee drinker, but I would imagine they do. As of March 2010, they didn't have the fresh brewed iced tea station that the other resorts have. I love the black tea, unsweetened and it wasn't an option at Kidani. My cousin who loves sweet tea though was thrilled with what they had there.

We have a Brita Faucet Filter in our Owners Locker that we use every trip. We hook it up and have filtered watered the whole trip!

It seems to me all fountain soda in Florida has a bit of that "Florida" salty type taste to it.
Personally I do not mind it,(hey it means I'm in Florida!!,) but depending on how picky you are, you may even object to filtered water and want bottled...
A common trick to the water taste is getting sleeves of flavoring (like Crystal Light) to add to a bottle...

Thanks for your suggestion. Just hope they don't have one of those combo sprayer faucets at kitchen sink at Kidani. If so, maybe one of the bathroom faucets will work to attach our new water filter.

I've seen at fast food restaurants those refill stations that have those little tabs labeled "soda water" and "water", BUT that water always tastes so bad. I was so happy when our local McDonalds put in a dedicated filtered water dispenser! Genius...McDonalds listens to its customers. I'll gladly pay for filtered water the same price as soda, and so much healthier too than corn syrup and sugar, also so much more environmentally friendly than all those water bottles that have to be recycled or inadvertently roll into storm drains, creeks, lakes, ocean, etc.

:scared1:

Thinking of bringing one down for our next trip has anybody ever had trouble attaching to the faucet in any of the villas?

Last time we stayed at BLT the water was terrible we could not even enjoy a cup of coffee!

We always get bottled water to make coffee with, learned that lesson pre-DVC back in 06.

We have a Brita faucet filter in our owner's locker. So far we've been able to attatch it to the faucets at BCV and SSR, but not at OKW (that was in 2008, before they started remodeling rooms at OKW though, so not sure now - whether they changed the faucets or not).

Us too! It makes a world of difference.

OP, I tried drinking the FL water one trip to save money. By the first day my stomach really hurt and on day two it started again. FL water just does not agree with me, so I only stick to bottle water now and all is well. It would be great to use the water from the fountains, but not everyone can tolerate it. I drink filtered tap at home. Have a backup plan.

So we stayed at Kidani 2/6-2/10 on a last minute trip. They did not have water. I'm pregnant and needed to keep hydrated and not overdo the caffeine. This was a huge problem for me there. When I asked one of the gift shop cast members, just to make sure I wasn't missing the obvious, she said they don't have filtered water in their refill station. She did point out that they sell gallon jugs of water for $2.95. Zephyr (sp?) Hills was the brand. It was MUCH cheaper than buying bottle after bottle of Dasani. So, if you don't want to do a grocery order or ship water down, it's a pretty inexpensive option.

They didn't change the appliances or anything in the bathroom. So, no, theyd didn't change out the kitchen plumbing fixtures.
