Films you didn't like...(inspired by the Braveheart thread)

I've got to second Armageddeon. Liv Tyler can't act her way out of a paper bag.

Absolutely ANYTHING with Jim Carey in it. He is sooo annoying!

The Bridges of Madison County. Meryl Streep YES! Clint Eastwood... I don't think so. Why they didn't pair up Meryl and Robert Redford again like in Out of Africa, I'll never understand.

Lawrence of Arabia. Hmm, Camels, Sand, Men with attitudes. Bleech!

Jurassic Park: Great book. Great special effects. Too bad the actors kept getting in the way.

The Austin Power movies: See my Jim Carey review.

AH - some of my favorite movies are posted........I won't say which ones ;)

I hated:

O Brother Where Art Thou? (too strange - but I loved Raising Arizona.....go figure)

Any Tom Cruise movie. Same goes for Jim Carey!

Scooby Doo Movie (too bad they are coming out with a part 2!)

Is Armageddeon the one with the big title wave?? Not very good.

The Steve Martin - Cheaper by the Dozen. DD liked it, but it was hard to sit through.

Ya Ya Sisterhood was a very bad movie. The book however was great!

Dr. T and the Women

Bridges of madison county (someone is setting the bridges on fire and there are landmark in madison county Iowa

Ice age.

dumb and dumber

silence of the lambs

shawshank redemshin (I cant even spell it)

bio dome

beverly hillbillies the movie

there is a couple more but i better quit

Most of the list so far Ill agree with some I disagree with...

but my list would be-

lost in translation (must be an old people thing- cause I hated it)
Shrek (good the first time- downhill after that)
Ever After (had to cleanse my vcr after that one)

those are the only ones I can think of right now-- but Im sure Ill add to it- -em

The film I really, really, REALLY HATED above ALL movies was "Trainspotting".
There is a scene in THAT movie which still haunts me. I turned it off after that and even HATE the clips from it now.

Oh Brother Where are Thou... we hated it
The third Mummy movie--Scorpion King The Rock can't act

Wolf -- almost walked out of that movie, but stayed because of boyfriend. Funny thing is he almost walked out but stayed because of me... guess we should have whispered to each other how much we hated it

AI -- just didn't "get it" I guess

I can't say I hated Pulp Fiction, but it was boring to me. Stupid plot line and just a strange movie.

Shakespeare in Love- Won best picture over Saving Private Ryan. Huh? I enjoyed Elizabeth (and Cate Blanchett) MUCH more.
I totally agree!!! When Gwyneth won the Best Actress Oscar over Cate Blanchett, I almost threw my TV out the window. I still find it hard to watch any of Gwyneth's movies.

I also disliked:

Gladiator (mostly because I can't stand Russell Crowe)
Titanic - can anyone say CHEESY?!
Braveheart
anything (and I mean ANYTHING) starring Tom Hanks
The Tailor of Panama

Fun thread...

Mine are:
Most anything with Jim Carrey (except maybe Liar Liar..that was clever)

City of Angels- Can you spell "trite?"

Forrest Gump- Ugh

That asteroid movie with Tea Leoni- See, can't even remember it's name it was so bad.

The Last Castle- A stopped caring immediately

Best in Show- Nope, sorry

Gladiator- Hated it, just hated it

I'm sure I'll think of more!

The Royal Tenenbaums

For some reason, both movies are Gwyneth Paltrow movies that she should NEVER have been in. Ugh to both!

I knew there were more... :)

American Pie... saw about a half hour and couldn't even pretend to find it even the slightest bit humorous

Mission: Impossible... Sorry girls, Tom Cruise should not be playing roles where he is supposed to be manly. He should stick to Jerry Maguire (another bad movie, but at least a better role for him).

Showgirls... I got tricked into seeing this with my friends (hey, we were 20-something and single) It was all I could do to get through the first 15 minutes before hurling, then I fell asleep.

Revenge of the Nerds 2-11 or however many they made. First one was funny, after that it stunk.

M*A*S*H (the original from 1971) Thank the Lord that they got it right on the small screen.

Mary Reilly - HORRIBLE Julia Roberts movie, and I usually enjoy her movies

Moulin Rouge

Eyes Wide Shut

My first thought was Pulp Fiction really hated it. I also did not like Moulin Rouge. In the minority probably but hated Austin Powers.

Wow- so many posted Titanic - How in the heck did it make $1.8 billion worldwide if so many people hated it? Yes it was sad, but most movies about tragedies are, aren't they?!?

I didn't like:

American Beauty
Mars Attacks
Daredevil
Hulk - abosolutely horrible
the last couple of Batman's
AI - Don't think I got it either!!
Bicentiennial Man - I lonve Robin Williams - but hated the ending to the movie
The Abyss - loved this movie up until the original theater ending - the additional ending on the DVD at least makes a little more sense

Wow, there are a lot:
Pulp Fiction, Strange Days, Twister (have tried at least 7 times to watch it fall asleep EVERY time, no matter what time of day), Dumb and Dumber, Austin Powers. Most Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey. Leslie Nielson and Adam Sandler films.
Just naming a few, there are soooooooooo many.

Ghost
LOTR part I (never wanted to see the other 2 parts--have been accused of blasphemy by other English teachers but hey, fantasy doesn't work for me)
Robin M.

LOL! I have all I can do not to defend a couple of my favorites on these lists. :o Just goes to show that one man's trash is another man's treasure (is that how that goes?). :p

I absolutely hated:

Ghost (it's the only movie I've ever walked out on.... and that's after giving it a fair chance).

Strange Brew (and actually any other stupid boy-humor movie)

Dumb and Dumber (see above)

Ghostdad (pathetic)

Truman Show (huh?)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (I was little, and they put it in as a "treat" at the end of camp. I fell asleep...... boring!!!)

I was bored to tears during Seabiscuit. I didn't find My Big Fat Greek Wedding even remotely funny.
