Hello everyone

I know that filming a holiday can be fun as I've done this when I went to Florida 3 years ago. I just want to ask about how do you capture some of the fun with a digital camcorder without having the sideview screen open? The reason is I brought the other camera that used tapes last time so don't want to carry loads of tapes with me so I'm going digital instead but the problem is, my camera switches off when I close the side view screen. Its mainly for capturing moments on rides basically and I know it says something about no external video lighting on rides but cant remember anything about side view screens.

Any advice will definitely help.

Hurrah. I've managed to solve the problem. What I did was trying flipping the small screen so it was facing outwards and closed it that way. The screen was still on so I covered it up with my left hand which does help block out all the light coming from the screen. Hopefully that should help while filming on holiday :)

Just bear in mind that you cannot have the camera on during rides or attractions that do not allow flash photography unless you are able to turn the backlight off.

I always made sure that the light on the camcorder was off when I went last time so I'll make sure that I do again this time.
