I don’t know what it was all about, but I figured I’d post it anyway:
This past Wednesday, there were a TON of people with WDW Badges all over the Magic Kingdom. It seemed as if a lot of them were carrying binders that read “Magic Kingdom Media Support.” Then, as we were walking toward the Castle for Fantasy in the Sky, we saw a whole camera crew getting ready to shoot the fireworks. And I’m not just talking about 2 or three people, there were like 10-15. They were on the grass right between Adventureland and the Castle.
If anyone knows what was going on, I’d be curious to find out.

I don't know what was happening but I am very interested if anybody knows. Could Travel Channel be doing something?

They were filming a new commercial for the new campaign: where magic lives which will go in to full swing on March 1st, All WDW cm's will have new name tags with Tinkerbell on them that read where magic lives, and the cm's hometown and state will be on the bottom.

Dclfan22, thanks for the info. I am glad to hear that the states info will be back on the CMs' badges. I really missed that info (it was always such a great conversation starter for me).

I was a CM at PO French Quarter in the Fall, and my Disney "Magical Moment" was Mulan. I can not even tell you how many times i was asked, "Where, exactly, is Mulan?" All of the guests thought that I was from Mulan, and i had to explain that the tag format had been changed and tat no, it wasn't my hometown, it was actually a Disney film :jester:

I had three different "Magical Memories" tags. When I wore my 'Great Mouse Detective' tag, several people commented on the movie, or asked why that was my favorite... but 'Walt Disney World' elicited knowing assertions from parents to their children that "He's from here!" And 'Haunted Mansion' has people asking "Is that where you work?" and "Are you working there today?" (Keep in mind that while they're asking me this, I'm wearing a park greeter costume, standing in the MK entry plaza taking pictures and handing out maps)... I thought the concept of "magical memories" was a neat idea, but it didn't turn out as nicely as anticipated... (some people have said "Oh, Haunted Mansion is my favorite too!" so some people did get it, at least...)

Yeah, that's what I though: nice idea, didn't work so well in real life. I don't think anyone ever said anything about Mulan, as in recognition of it as a magical memory, but it just really made me laugh how many asked where Mulan was. I felt bad because when i had to explain the guest always seemed embarrassed that they made the mistake, but hey, I didn't know where Mulan might be to tell them! Another CM thing: I liked when I was wearing my full-out Mardi gras, easter egg costume complete with hairnet and stocking, and guests would ask, "do you work here?"
