I contacted Special Diets at Disney and they sent me a list of everything at Disney known to be free of gluten.

I found that the Filet Mignon was not listed on any of their menus/restaurants, but other steaks were. Why would this be? The part of the cow does not have gluten in it. :rotfl2: All of the meat has its own preparation area, so it should not have anything to do with natural seasonings either.

They cook all their own steaks, especially at like Le Cellier, Shula's, Yachtsman's. At Yachtsman's, you get to choose your steak before they cook it. Thus, I would assume nothing is pre-marinated. Just e-mail Disney's special diets before you go and they will let the chefs know ahead of time to expect your allergy. You should be fine as long as they know. My assumption is that flour is used to thicken the sauces that are used on many filets. Sauces enhance the flavor because of the lack of fat on the filet. I too have Celiac, and I'm expecting to have the 12 oz. Filet this year at Shula's lol, so I hope so.... Good luck :)

We've gotten the filet and LeCellier several times. The chef even specially sautees up some mushrooms separately for us because there's something in the mushroom sauce that we're allergic to (we've got lists of allergies in addition to gluten). I think the risotto might have gluten but I believe that the mashed potatoes are gluten free; the chef will be able to let you know for sure.

I think every restaurant that we've been to at WDW which has steak on the menu has been able to serve us steak even if it does have to be served differently than the menu states (ie leaving off a sauce or with a different side).

Some of the meats have a marinade or sauce that contains gluten. Wolfgang Puck puts a garlic sauce on their rotisserie chicken that has gluten in it. I told them of my allergy and they gave me one without the sauce on it. Still very delicious!
