Figured out to completely surprise kids...

My wife and I decided to take the kids(DD's 10,7 & DS 2) for 6 nights to the WL at the end of August. My kids love Disney and since I took the girls by themselves last November they have no idea we would go again so soon. We have promised to take them back November 2006. Little do they know we are going in 2 1/2 months.
We decided not to tell them. But, we were trying to figure out how we could get them to pack and to the airport without giving it away....The answer came from my in-laws who live in Boynton Beach (Near West Palm Beach). We are going to tell them we are going to see them. So they will pack for Florida and go to the airport totally oblivious. We will even pretend to check the departure board for a flight that is going to W.Palm. Then when we get to the gate they will realize it when they see the departure gate says "Orlando".

My only problem with not telling them. Is thay I love to plan the trip with them. But, I still can....but they think its for November 06.

I love that idea. It would be so cool for someone to surprise you with a trip to disney. If it was me I would probably start screaming in the airport.

I just have to make sure I take the video camera out and record it as they put 2 & 2 together. And another thing..I my in-laws will be meeting us at Disney. So the kids will get to see them.

We just did the same thing this past Thursday. Told the kids we were taking them to a really cool beach (didn't tell them it was the The Beach Club). When we went through the gates we handed them Mickey and Goofy and told them some friends wanted to come along. They were sooooo excited and kept thanking us for surprising them. "It was the best surprise" they said.

We are doing the same this Friday! Picking the kids up from school and heading to Disney! They don't know. My daughter has been stepping over her suitcase for the last two weeks and it still has not occured to her!!!! Wish us luck. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they see the car and "Disney or Bust" written on the window!
