Figment

Anyone else want to bring Figment back more mainstream into Epcot park? I never got to ride the original attraction Figment was on but heard it was awesome.

I rarely see Figment stuff nowadays on my trips.

I'd love to see Figment restored to his former glory. Can't say that I would have a lot of interest in seeing him all around Epcot though.

I am with you on this one! The new Journey into Imagination is awful.

I would be very happy to see Dreamfinder and the old songs back.

No, the current version is still there. The old version is much better. The newer version started in 1998 I think?

Ok, I never saw the older version. Glad it hasn't disappeared it was another AC ride when we get hot later this week.

I'd like to see the entire pavilion restored to its former glory. I would give anything to experience the upstairs floor again. I loved it.

I would love that. Figment was my favorite when I was little, and it was DH's favorite, too. Now our son loves him, too! It would be great if you could still meet Figment and Dreamfinder like back in the 80's, and I wish Image Works was as big and fun as it used to be.

Totally agree! this was one of the best areas in Epcot for kids. It was a huge science museum. I remember going for a high school science trip for the day. They had a few demonstrations and talked about the science stuff too. Was just great.

- Here's a tip to mess with people. Years ago my wife bought a small figment doll, after we left the shop my friend said hey, you got a defective one, there's no nose! She freaked out a bit looked around then realized, there is no nose on the doll! We still joke about it.

It depends on which version you are asking about. There has been three: the original (with Professor Dreamfinder), the middle (the forgotten awful version without Figment), and the current (with Professor Chaning and the Imagination Institute).

Now a days, most of the Figment souvenirs is limited to the store at the end of the ride and even that now is about half Figment and half other. I miss the old store (up by where Captain Eo is)! Even Mousgear (Centorium) used to have Figment stuff, plus the decorative Figment in space figurine. Sigh...well at least they did being Figment back, so hopefully they wouldn't try to remove him ever again.

I miss the original version as well!

i hadnt been to epcot in 16 yrs i was so looking forward to journey into imagination, boy was i dissapointed,use to love the attraction and everything afer the ride, pin tables, colored floor,etc

Figment is one of my favorite park characters. I have 6 plush's of him in various sizes at home.

But the latest figment iteration just bugs me. I like Monty Python as much as the next guy, but the ride was just ruined. It was one of the worst ride redesigns in Disney History - up there with the tiki room (thankfully restored) and Stich's Great Escape (which is still there so I still haven't forgiven them. I would prefer Alien Encounter or if they can't give that to us bring back the original FttM or MtM - but those are arguably much more out of date with Mission Space, so make something new then).

But yes - I wish Journey would pull another tiki room and have an electical fire requiring them to rebuild it old style.

I love Figment! Wish you could still do a M&G with him. The only place I've seen Figment merchandise is in the shop attached to the ride, but they have some really cute stuff. I got a little grippy plush to dress up my vacation pictures.

Well, it was more like meeting Dreamfinder, and he had a Figment puppet with him. I was four so I don't remember that much about it, but I do remember my little mind being blown when we left the Imagination pavilion and they were outside visiting with guests.
