Hi everyone,

Just getting started w/ planning an Escpae wedding for this coming May. Now for me, Florida is a bad hair state. As soon as I cross the state lines, my hair grows about 3 times in volume and looks like I stuck my finger in the proverbial light socket.

I've never been one to let this bother me (who cares what your hair looks like when you're having so much fun at Disney), but this time is different. It's not something I wanted recorded in DF's memory of our wedding or the wedding pics ;)

So, for those of you who may have this issue and have gone before me - do the various stylists I've seen recommended on these boards have some magic voodoo that can control my mop for a few hours? Or am I stuck with a 'do lacquered flat to my head (or worse, frizz)?

Other concern: make-up. I don't usually wear a lot and I'm nervous about letting someone else do it. I was thinking of getting a makeup artist here at home show me how to do it, so there would be no unpleasant surprises on the wedding day. Does this seem like a good idea or no? :confused3

Thanks in advance for all of your input!

Hahaha! Totally picturing Monica!

how are you doing your hair...up- down _1/2 & 1/2??

I had mine all up & it NEVER misbehaved

as for makeup...i went more natural, but i know ALOT of girls have used someone that gives you "extra" application sponges for touch ups...i cant recall who it was, but im sure someone will know

Probably either half/half or low knot in the back--no veil, maybe a flower. I have long-ish bangs that tend to have a mind of their own when there's a lot of humidity (and I really don't like how they look slicked back).

i would probably put my hair up if it frizzes too much. houston is even more humid than orlando (if you can believe it) and in the summer i have to either cut it all off, or do DRASTIC things to make it not frizz...

i would probably hire someone. especially for make up. i had ana from beaute speciale, they were AMAZING. they sprayed the make up to make it stay/not run and i had it on from about 6am until 1:30am the next day and it didn't move at all. it even POURED the day night of my wedding and the make up stayed.

STRAIGHTENING IRON!! I will never go to Florida without my Chi again. It is the only thing that works for me. Should keep your bangs at bay if you decide to wear them down for your wedding. It is about $100 but the investment is well worth it if your hair (on your wedding day or any regular day in FL) stays straight the whole entire day! :worship:

I have that too.. and I kind of want my hair all down, in like long loose flowy curls. Is the humidity bad there in October?
