fifth disney trip

My DH goes to Fort Wilderness Every Year to camp with my sons boy scout troop. Every year I also go, but stay in a Hotel with my DD. This year I booked airline tickets as soon as I got back, but didn't tell my DH. He doesn't want me to go again but does not know I already have tickets, park hoppers, hotel and transfer arrangements. He says he will stay home if I go (says we can;t afford it) and he will cancel his trip if I go and Be very mad at me. What should I do? The trip is in three weeks. I already have a vacation week off, my DD has off from school. Should I sit home and pout, lose my air ticket?

Wow! First of all, can't imagine planning all of this and not even telling my dh, HOWEVER, I would be pretty upset if my dh got to go and I had to stay home!! Is there any way you can ALL go but do it cheaper?? Could you and your dd also camp??? How does your son feel about all of this? I would think he would be pretty upset if dad backs out of the scout trip. I hope you can work this all out

My son doesn't really mind if Dh backs out because he still has his friends to hang out with. I.m trying not to make it a big deal with him as this is between my dh and I. He definitely does not want me to camp with him. I think I will just lye low until he leaves and either just go(I leave after he does and come back before he does) This sounds deceitfull but I do not take a big vacation in the summer, if I did I would be spending just about as much going to the beach for a week. Maybe I can reason with him. I know one thing, I will not get myself in this predicament again, speak-up early and try a different vacation spot. I really would like to do a cruise but thought that would really set him off. I work full time, make a good salary and do not splurge on vacation. I'm content eating breakfast in the room, bringing bottled water ,fruit, light snacks, eating takeout at epcot and doing two buffets on our trips. I did get the nurse rate at the dolphin as I thought the moderates prices were so close, I would enjoy the convenience. Thanks for your reply. I think my dh is just nervous because we just had a big party for my son getting his Eagle rank in the BoyScouts, now wer're going to Florida, then have a graduation party in june, from high school and then having two in college.

I don't understand why your DH is saying that if you go and stay at an off-site hotel, he is not going camping with your DS?? Sounds like to me you are going to go to have a vacation trip. He should be going to spend that time with his child before he heads on to college. The two trips, even though they are at the same time, have two seperate purposes. I'm still confused.

I think I would tell your husband asap. He will find out eventually, better from you than someone else. Then you can discuss your options. Good luck!

Thank you for your replies. I'll see how it goes this week-end as my daughter makes her confirmation (too much going on at one time). Hate to be arguing on a special occasion. It is also my sons 18th birthday today!! I'm sure it will work out. Oh what you do to go to disney. To clarify the trip confusion, my husband is camping with my son and his boyscout troop in Fort wilderness and it would just be with my daughter(11) at the Dolphin. My girlfriend was thinking of coming with me with her son (share the cost of the room) but was not able to this year. This would have softened it a little for mu husband. If I go, I just want to be able to just enjoy myself without feeling i just really shouldn't be there.

I worked it out with my DH. Received his blessings to go, DD is excited. So am I Can't figure out the countdown timer but I'm leaving April 8th!!!!!! Thanks

I'm just curious as to how you were able to pay for the airfare, hotel, and tickets without your husband finding out!! It's great that you finally worked it out! Certainly if the subject of cost comes up again just explain to him how much money you would be losing if you gave up your airline tickets!

I can understand that hubby and I have separate bank accounts and separate CC.

I bought my air tickets about 4 months ago on my credit card, paid that off, then the park hoppers 2 months ago, paid them off, then applied a credit to my credit card 2 weeks ago for the hotel (my separate vacation club). I still have some cash for spending, which I will watch every penny, but still have fun!!!!
