PKs are a TERRIBLE way to end a game - either soccer or hockey. In fact I make for the exit when regular season hockey goes to PKs. Would love to see soccer go to 9v9 or even 7v7 in the extra time. Spain missed all 3 shots so they have no excuse, but I don't have a lot of respect for Morocco who was clearly playing for the game to go to PKs from the first whistle.

I thought Morocco did have some goal opportunities. Not as many as Spain, but they did take some chances. It IS a valid strategy to focus on defense when you're up against a stronger team.

Morocco clearly did their homework and stacking 9 in the box to muddle the close passing Spain is so good at did the job. It worked - credit to them. Still, I would have preferred that they go to a 9v9 or 7v7 in the extra time and open up the space so the game could end as an actual soccer game rather than a PK skills competition.
FWIW - I thought Japan was the better team too. They were not good at PKs either though. Croatia wasn't playing for the tie - that's the difference.

Disney wants to make sports movies with historical relevance. Disney knows how big the movie would sell worldwide. A British film company could also make it. I’m just saying Disney will fight for the rights as soon as the match is announced.

I agree with declansdad. If it happens (and I sincerely doubt that it will), it won't be an English language film. You over estimate the drawing power outside of the soccer community. And if the game ends in a non-dramatic fashion, it will never happen. I doubt Ronaldo even starts the remaining games.

As I mentioned, I played soccer in high school. I've also tried watching soccer on TV.

Yeah it would. People are willing to go to jail for one of their kits when illegally running on the pitch and both athletes have millions of followers on social media. They have more fans combined compared to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Those actors made the film industry money even when some of the movies were horrible. Miracle is a classic and so is Invincible. The world watches soccer and those 2 great athletes will endorse the film and make even more money off of it. I don’t know why you honest think it wouldn’t work. Tell me I’m wrong in 20 years.

It was a choke for sure. Neymar will destroy that goal record but it doesn't really mean much because the eras are so different. There are so many more international games now with expanded tournaments and increased friendlies.

YES! Nothing against Brazil, but I was really like their play. I was pulling for them in the 2018 finals (against France), and I love watching Luka Modric play. I was really hoping for a Croatia-Argentina final but... they're on the same side of the bracket so that won't happen.
