For those who missed the last four years of world soccer and need a quick catch up (lots of things have changed in the last four years):

2018 (last World Cup)

2019 ( Concacaf Gold Cup 2019)
Canada was eliminated in the quarter finals and the USA placed second while Mexico won the tournament.

2021
(Gold Cup 2021/Nations League 2021/Euro 2020-delayed a year due to Covid-19)
Canada, USA, and Mexico all played well in the 2021 CGC and 2021 NL. USA won both tournaments and Canada showed how much their national team program has improved. Mexico’s current national team drama started at this point last year.

And that should get you all caught up for the tournament in November.

Just in case @Frozen Canuck, @prairie_girl, @ronandannette, @fab1976, @Nora03, @SirDuff, @Aladora, @declansdad, @CdnCarrie and any other Canadians who wanted to know what their national team was up to before the World Cup in November. @prairie_girl, you once asked about your national team’s coach, so that’s why I posted the link to his interview on the off chance you may be come interested (I will however allow you to throw a virtual tomato at me if you want *prepares to duck* :duck:

). I won’t be updating on the thread about the CanMNT for at least three weeks, so I thought I would make an exception to my break just to post the latest on your national team since they won’t play again until the World Cup after these two friendlies. I hope all is well with everyone.

Thanks for trying; appreciate your effort and the shout-out. Still not really into it though. Some of us are busy sitting on pins-and-needles waiting to see if the Blue Jays get a Wild Card spot into the pennant race. :hyper:

Don’t worry, the Yankees will be in the World Series, so Toronto won’t have to deal with the stressful 7 games.

One can always hope. The Blue Jays won the World Series on the night of my first date with DH (October, 1993). I actually cut it short to get home and watch.

It seems funny now but neither of us thought it was going anywhere after that night...we celebrated our 27th anniversary today. :lovestruc

I do have a question. Do you like your national team’s kit (jersey) or do you think Canada Soccer could have done better for the WC? (Fashion based question not soccer).

I’m still posting some updates on the national teams that I feel are important but I’m still limiting my posts in other threads. I’m enjoying my break. It’s mostly trying to limit my time on social media.
