We have had this discussion before. No amount of "nice Canadian sports stories" are going to get me more interested in sports...soccer in particular. (My apologies to everyone who enjoys talking about and following soccer on this thread.)

I can't speak to the other people you listed, but dragging me over to the soccer thread because you have been asked not to talk about it in the Canadian thread feels like you are unwilling to adhere to the boundary that was set. Circumventing the boundary through a "loop hole" has not elevated my desire to discuss this topic.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to annoy you. I just tagged Disboarders that are Canadian because it was a nice Canadian story/video not because it was soccer related to be honest. And you continue to underestimate how much the US becomes soccer crazy during the WC. We aren’t Canada. If Canada goes 3 and out without a single goal, we’ll see how much coverage they get on TSN during next year’s Nations League/Gold Cup. You won’t be beating the USMNT on home soil that’s for sure. November is going to be an unfortunate awakening on how good Canada is against European quality teams. Good luck.

Thanks for tagging me here though - reading through the past few pages did spark an idea. I was one who sorely regretted the DIS crack-down on Covid discussions. Now I see we could probably resurrect some very robust discourse on the topic inside Buzz's obscure soccer threads without the board police ever noticing!

Canada’s current playing style won’t work against the top European teams they will be facing next month. That was what I was referring to with this comment. @declansdad, overestimates the CanMNT team success so far and underestimates the USA’s fanbase and USMNT skill level. I think many Canadians will care but only time will tell. I would love for you to join the discussion on this thread of whatever capacity within the Disboards guidelines. Just please don’t try to get my thread closed. Enjoy the WC if you tune in. The roster release will be on November 9th (the USA’s is televised, I don’t know about Canada’s yet).

You know what? I hadn’t thought of it that way, but I totally agree with you. We have VERY clearly set a boundary, and it is being ignored.

No, I meant it was an article from the CBC that some might find mildly interesting, nothing more. I also figured that those who didn’t care about it would just ignore it.
