http://www.feistydishes.com/ ?? I can save $50 over everything dishes BUT they are 2nds...

Also which colors go well and how would you recommend mixing and matching?

I'm leaning towards the cinnabar, sunflower, persimmon, tangerine, maybe plum and cobalt. Trying to get medium bowls, salad plates & dinner plates for 8....would you do 4 plates in 1 color and 4 in another? and then a different 4 in salad and another color or bowls that match the dinner etc.? thanks.

Trish

because it has dark blue carpet which I hate but can't change for a year or two. But I have golds tans and reds in fabric in there [there's a little blue in the fabric I found so it pulls it all together thankfully]. Kitchen walls are going to be a buttery yellow soon , right now peach and green but earthy. The floors and cabinets are a warm wood color. I eventually want black [I think] as an accent [chairs, paint the island black].

Hee. Hee. Fiestaware would be good for me, eh?? I'm already a hodge podge of colors!!
Trish

oooooh, then I think you should go with warm colors in your dishes....AND accent them with some pieces of BLACK!!....cute! maybe a slad plate between the dinner plate and bowl in black and others in two other colors like greens or reds and yellows?

or you could stick with the earthy tones in the dishes and go with black as an accent in the tablecloth, napkins, placemats? maybe a candleholder or two also?

I have 12 place settings in 6 different colors- plum, cinnabar, peacock, shamrock, cobalt, and red (can't remember the creative name for the red).

I have two place settings of each color.

I think that they all go together. That's the idea to me. It just depends on what works in your house and what you like. I know people who have only one color and others who mix and match all the colors.

Is the red you're talking about called 'scarlett' ? That is my daughters favorite. A couple of weeks ago people were discussing Fiesta, I have always wanted Fiesta but couldn't afford it...that was until someone posted the www.megachina.com There are no 'seconds' pieces only brand new and they allow you to 'mix' if you want. I within the last 3 weeks have accumulated a setting for 8 of mixed colors along with the silverware to match. As long as you spend 89$ shipping is free. I've ordered 3 times and recently for my mom also. Everytime I open the cabinet I smile. Please compare the sights...I know the silverware was cheaper on mega than fiesty. Good luck and happy shopping! I am hooked.

Yes, the red is scarlet. Thanks

If you live near a Dillards, I got all of mine there. Their regular price for a 5 piece place setting is $20. They sometimes have specials. I have a few Gusto bowls because they were free with the purchase of a place setting.

I bought all of mine willy nilly colors--no rhyme or reason to it at all--off of E-bay. They were all brand new, but most were seconds. Frankly you'd never know. I've got service for 15+ in every color under the rainbow, and it cost me under $300, and that includes serving bowls, platters, pitchers, etc.

I also have Fiesta Ware in ALL colors. I love the mix and match look.

Get whatever colors you love and they will look wonderful together. My kids love to set the table and come up with new color combinations every time. I have TONS of Fiesta Ware and continue to collect new colors and items when they come out. I am all for Ebay, too! ;)

Have fun with it,

That's exactly what we have. We have 12 place settings in 6 different colors. Ours are all the pastels, but I love mixing & matching them on the table.

for what I want...8 dinner, 8 salad and 8 medium bowls to start with...but fiesty is seconds....

Scarlet is too red for my house I think. I wasn't sure if I should have 2 each of 4 colors or 4 each of 2 colors and in what combination.

I was thinking 4 dinner in Cinnabar & 4 Dinner in Plum
4 Salad in Tangerine and 4 Salad in Sunflower
4 Bowls each in either the Tangerine & Sunflower or Cinnabar & Plum or add 2 new colors like Persimmon and Cobalt.

Just trying to picture it on a table...

Thanks Guys!

So far the best deal I can find on above is $140. I'd love to be closer to $100.

Be Careful! FiestaWare is an addiction. I have a full place setting of all the "modern" colors. I have actually have purchased most of mine through Amazon.com. Gotta love the free shipping. Seconds will have noticable defects so the extra $50 is probably worth spending.

Does anyone know if this is that same Fiesta ware that penney's sell? I've been eyeing that in the catalog. I was thinking of the white, but is it white or a creamy color? I can't tell from the book. Also if anyone has the white, does your silverware scratch it all up? I currently have pfaltzgraff and my silverware has put lovely gray scratches all over my dishes.

Thanks! :)

Penneys probably does sell it. I am almost positive I have seen ads in their catalogues. I am NW of Chicago and our dept stores do - Marshall Fields, Carsons etc. so I bet Penneys does too. I do have a white place setting and it does show lots of scratches. White is not my favorite. I am not sure if there is a creamy white color out there, but I own white white. I would steer clear of the really light colors and go for the bright, jewel tones. They are prettier and do not show as much wear.

They sell place settings at Linens and Things that used to be priced right around $20 for a 5 piece set. I would get my $5 coupon and use it toward a place setting and collect all the diff colors. Haven't looked in a while, though, as my cabinets are full! ;)

Have fun,

I would choose to have the bowls be a different color than the salad plates...either the same as the dinner plates or two new colors...

I LOVE my Fiesta Ware! I got mine from Amazon a few years ago at great prices, really enjoy acquiring open stock pieces. I have Plum and Juniper...makes a gorgeous table against a gold tablecloth. I have dinner plates (Juniper), soup plates (Plum) and some miscellaneous platters, bowls & candlesticks. It looks good with everything.

We live near a fiesta seconds store and that is where I have gotten all mine. We have chartruse (retired), colbalt, cinnibar, and the butter yellow color (it is retired now too and I can't remember its name). We moved recently and changed our kitchen colors so I am wanting to get some scarlett soon. We have a place setting for 13 and have 4 of most colors with one color having 5, we tried to get the retired colors for our 13th setting.

Hey, I got some of my pieces from bettycrocker.com. They have some clearance like the kiwi or watermelon patterns. Also the snowflake pattern. Love it!

Can I move in with you? Never mind I don't think my DH will really like that. He already threatened to take my Visa away if I keep ordering.
