Thinking of buying a DVC resale through Fidelity Real Estate. Does anyone have any information (good or bad) about this company? Thanks.

used to be GMAC.

i think they charge additional fees on top of the typical closing costs.

they don't have as good a reputation as TTS or the other main DVC resale site but some have used them without issues.

Charles - Thanks so much for your quick reply! I hadn't seen much posted about this name (did see a few about GMAC). I would like to use TTS or another but haven't seen exactly what we want through them (yet). Are there any others you would recommend?

if fidelity or ebay had a great deal, i'd consider going that way.

but generally, i'd stick with the main 2. JMO.

I have a contract in with Fidelity now. The purchase was easy and they provided great customer service. They no longer charge the extra fee.

That's good to hear. I was worried about Fidelity because the listing I was interest in seemed too good to be true (and you know what they say).

If an offer doesn't make it through ROFR what costs would I incur?

no cost other than time.

ROFR means disney can take your place as the buyer. if you negotiated a great deal, they can take it at that price...and you would have to start over. so it would just cost you more time.

I don't know if Rachel is still working there now, but we worked with her when it was GMAC and thought she was great. Because they have some kind of referral relationship with Disney, they seem to have a lot of contracts.

Yes, Rachel is who helped us through the contract negotiation process. Very quick to respond, we really appreciated that.

Thanks Jean! Yes, they do have a lot of contracts. I think that's why I found what we were looking for through them (and not others).:)

We also used fidelity and worked with Rachel. Very quick to reply when we had questions. Though I will say that it was a bit of a "black box" experience for us (being our first resale purchase). Meaning that we'd send items over and not get proactive updates until we reached out and asked what was going on. In our case it was because the seller was on vacation internationally when we sent back the paperwork so things took a bit longer than usual.

Overall though, good experience and got our DVC contract entered in MS systems just in time to make our 11 month reservation. :thumbsup2

We have a contract going to ROFR with Rachel at Fidelity. She is very nice. All is going well so far!

Why is it we can list some resale websites like dvcbyresale.com, but not the one that starts with resales and ends with dvc (dot) com?

Rachel has helped us alot with finding the right contract! They had lots of contracts for sale thats why i went with them this time. I have previously bought from Timeshare store. It feels as is Rachel has more workload but she always responded to my mails. And she is very helpful. Previous to this closing i had a contract that were ROFRd by Disney ad Rachel was quick to come up with a new similar contract. I took i big chance with a BCV 100P @ $70/p and offcourse i lost it.

Go for the contract that suits you best. The 4 major companies will all do the job for you.
