Fibromyalgia Thread

WOW guess I'm not the only one swamped with the holiday. Its been a long time between posts. Hope all is well after the big piggout last thursday:lmao:

I've been holding my own getting about a quarter of what I want to get done with all the kids home. Our tree is up and it looks great:thumbsup2 Now for the other 6 trunks of decorations:scared1:

I just got my Disny photopass books back and the came out great! very different from the last one. This time did a bit of a pirates and princess story to make the pix flow. Love the new system. was able to fit as many as five pix to a page so trimmed my book by about 8 pages from last time! I worried the pix might look small but they looked great and even got a couple full page fotos in plus all the new stickers and backgrounds allowed me to cover-up mistakes ets. I really miss being able to sit at the computer and focus long enough to be creative.

Well its snowing here and I have a ton to do so I should get to work just in case the weather makes me poop out.

Sending pain free vibes:goodvibes and pixie dust to allpixiedust:

Dianne how are you and your son doing?

Any baby news out there? He/she must be here just keeping its momma busy:love:

Thinking of you all and hoping you have a pain free Happy Holiday Season!

Well it's the same old some old in my fibro land. Not well enough to get anything compleated and well enough to feel like a complete failure for not getiing anything done GRRR

We've had alot of stress. James had been trying to finish his semester and the car wouldnt start for his last day. He had to give a lecture too:sad2: but the Proff was great accepted his powerpoint as credit. Guess its good that he is a very good public speaker and has done several things for this class. So he is now offically halfway throught the classwork that makes him drive to cleveland once a week:cool1::cool1::cool1:

the big stress was that darn car.. motor gone :scared1::scared1: We had planned to buy another car in feb after he got his student loans and a few checks from the leagal cases he has been lucky to snag this year:banana:. Well instead we were looking at potentially thousands to fix a car thats 7 years old rent a car for two months or buy a car in a day:scared1: with those medical issues from two years ago when DH and I had 20 dr appointments, 6 eye surgeries, heart monitoring 24/7 for a month etci n a 6 month period all involving lots of daycare etc our credit was just starting to imporve again and it was unclear if we would clear the credit as in may we did not. Well long story short we got the CAR!!:cool1::cool1:

It has one feature we didnt ask for but makes me want to move into the car ..heated seats..omg heated seats are the best thing for Fibro i jsut wanted to sleep in that car..very hard to do with three kids in the back seat:lmao: talk about sending me pain free vibes:goodvibes mmmmm

Lovemy girl and Brightsy havent seen you guys in awhile how are you?

Steph sending warm thoughts up there to cold Canada!

I'm still here! It's been crazy around here.
I started Karate about 5 months ago, I thought the excersize and such would help, and mostly it is... at least with keeping my joints flexible and strengthening my core. However, I broke my left ring finger about 3 weeks ago. The cast makes typing really akward so I haven't been doing much of it. I am getting the cast off today, and if the x-rays look good Il'll be in a splint for a bit. I'll need OT to get full usage back. Sadly the frature, tho' small, went into the joint so yay, osteo arthritis here I come. bleah...
And then this weekend at karate I was doing some kicking drills. My partner and I misunderstood the directions and we kicked each other at the same time... now my right pinky toe is all messed up and bruised... my partner has a banged up toe too. *Sigh*
Anyways, the holiday season is here...and so is the cold. I'm stiffer than usual, and a bit achy in the joints, esp. my elbows. Otherwise I'm good.

Wow thats great you can do that! I used to be very athletic. I really miss my body hurting from a real good workout like skiing. Keep it up ists so hard to do it once you have to stop.

It is really cold up here. We are loving the car but not the calls i keep getting from the laon company. I know they are just double checking everthing after the meltdown but it makes me so nervous.:sad2: I have to take a deep breath and remind myself its fine. I love not worring about my husband in the snow. I used to say the old car was held together with bubble gun and duct tape the way it rattled and groaned.:rotfl: We swithced lawn guys this summer and the new one will service us all year for what the last one did just the summer work. We have a very hilly yard and it was hard to do on the little tractor and once jamaes was gone 100hrs a week it became impossible for me to keep up alone with the kids. The new guy is plowing and salting and even clearing our walkway! I cant tell you what a difference it makes not having to clear snow anymore. I used to have a love hate relationship with the snow. Its so beautiful in the mountains but last year in those bad storms we got 5 feet in two weeks:scared1: James was stuck at home thank god and our neighbor plowed because there was no way I was shovling that!:scared1: and while we had the little tractor it was often easier on my shoulder to push the light snow than to drive the tractor and turn my heard. I learned how to shovel without ever lifiting the blade. Something I know my friends in NY and MA cant do but the snow is fluffly here. Still i would need to shower and rest all day.

My fibro is still in limbo. i just have to rest too much to accoplish much but that is better than it was this time last year so i'll take it. My mind however is a complete sive :(

Bright hope you are surviving the cold in Canada.

Tink hope all that snow in buffalo missed you.

Eduke we are sending you our snow and extreme cold. ENJOY!:rotfl2:

Seding pain free vibes:goodvibes and pixie dust to all!pixiedust:

Tigg, You are too funny!!! :lmao::lmao: That is a lot of cookies

I hope everyone is getting ready for christmas and feeling as well as we all can. It IS cold up here, but have not had a ton of snow like some of our neighbours. :worship: I know it WILL get worse though and I am dreading it.

The achiness is already setting in and am sooo freakin cold all the time that my heat is at 26 degrees most of the time.

I got denied my disability application and now have to appeal it and am not feeling up to it, but will as I only have 30 days. Tigg and Tink know this already but I have not been around much because my grandmother in BC died a few weeks ago and I have really been taking it hard. I was back to work this week but not really focused. I was hoping to get to see her this christmas but no money and was going to go by march break or summer for sure but it is too late now. :sad1: And now the dreaded question, what to do with my mom. She is out there all alone. Although the thought of us being in the same city brings visions of me losing my sanity, I can't bear the thought of her being alone out there. My grandma always looked out for her. :littleangel:
Anyways Christmas is going to be sucky around here it is all I can do to not cry anymore in front of Jamie. MOney is still really tight. I finally got hired for that occasional job as a teacher's assistant, I just got my paperwork to be ableto start now. I think I will put it off until after christmas holidays until I am feeling better. Who knows how often I will get called anyways?
But yeah, that is my news. sorry to be such a downer. The good news is both my jobs are on the school board's calendar so for the first time in a long time, I will have two weeks off with my son. :cheer2:

Hope everyone is well and pain free as possible. Take care of you and your family and take a moment to just take in the spirit of holidays and not get caught up in the hustle and bustle and stress of it all. Ha I should take my own advice.

Take care all. Miss you all. EDuke, you are a brave soul doing taxes for others!! You go girl!!!!! Diane and Bonnie, hope to talk soon as well. :goodvibes

I didn't try thr bread pudding yet but I still want to. I passed my certification test today so I am officially an AARP Tax Aide Volunteer! I will be doing taxes at the senior center for elderly and low income people. With all the blessings in my life I just feel I need to give back. But I am soooo tired lol. I have been trying to get ready for Christmas and our upcoming trip to WDW and failing dismally :confused3. I didn't read all the posts to catch up but I will now that my tax training is done. I hope you all are not overdoing (like I am) and enjoy the season. Stay warm and healthy.

I know this thread is been pretty slow, but I am going to keep posting and hope that it picks up in the near future.

It has been around 3 weeks since I started back on Neurontin. It has been solving my latest problem and for that I am very grateful. I am not sure if it is just tricking my mind into thinking the aches/pains in my legs are gone or if it really if healing. I am still using caution and not over doing things just in case. It is nice to be back to not having to take many pain meds during the actual day and just having to do it at night. I still need to research it more.

I have been sleeping more (that really depresses me, makes me feel like I am wasting the day) but I have been falling asleep between 1 and 3am and am sleeping until around noon. This is good for me. One day I slept until 3:30pm. Boy was that hard to catch up and get ready for the family to come home.

Christmas is always a time of reflection for me, and I have been making some hard decision in my life and adjusting, but so far so good. My physician has also agreed to the Medicare payment only starting January 1st. so I think I just need to pay the first $200.00 in medical, and then my appts will be covered.

He had bee charging me all the extra's this year above and beyond the Medicare payment and it was getting to be so high that I was going to have to look for a new physician if things didn't work out.

I hope that all is well with everyone and I look forward to a fast moving thread again. God Bless, and pain free and fancy vibes for everyone!!:hippie::3dglasses
