Fibromyalgia Thread

Were you up all night? Today is going to be rough for you. I hope you get some sleep soon. Maybe tonight will be the charm??

I am getting into the bad habit of being up till 3 or 4 and sleeping till 12 noon.

Last night though my son and I were on the Wii Fit till 3:30. I was watching him run for 1/2 hour. Before that I did Light Yoga for 18 mins and a cool down. LOL A heavy person doing yoga. Need I say more?? ;)

I was on that 3 AM routine but got cured with our 8:40 flight Monday morning. Up at 5 and at the airport by 7. Was so tired last night I was in bed and asleep by 12 last night. All my tendar spots are hurting today but had a great day at EPCOT and am now trying to relax before crashing. Wish all my fibro friends could be here too! "it's chilly" is our vacation tagline for this trip though so everyone stuck in the cold don't feel too bad. Wore my winter jacket most of the day!

Stay Pain Free as best you can! Go Wii Fit! :cheer2: Maybe I'll have to try that too...

It's supposed to get colder down there too. EEK! My husband is going to FREEZE next week. Heck, I might too since I've been staying cold lately. Crap! I just thought of that.

Thanks for the support. Last few days haven been too bad. Started melatonin again after my last post. DH home to hear the Kids so trying it again. Working for sleep we'll see if I lose weight again after I stop pigging out for the holidays;). If I was doing yoga on the fit it would look like a whale on a small surf board:rotfl2:

So sorry to here you had a rough night:hug: I'll send some good vibes and sleepy bugs your way!:rotfl:

Things are looking up here. We got some good financial news by Fed-ex yesterday afternoon:yay::yay: so things should be alittle easier this year and if a few other things fall into place it could be the start of a really, really good year! We need one to start to recover financially from the last five years of medical issues etc. It also means the trip to WDW I booked on a wing and a prayer last Sept is ON :banana: I Booked because we got 2 free nights and I didn't want to lose the deal. Wasn't quite sure how we would make it work but discounts make a HUGE difference for a family of five.

Then this morning ALL my kids slept til noon:worship:This is the first time both DH and I have slept late together since 1998!!!!! Hope these are omens of a very good year to come!:dance3::dance3:

Finally there is all of you wonderful DISers I've go to chat with this year. My DH has said on many occasions how much of a difference this thread makes in cheering me up. Looking forward to a whole year of griping and forgetting ;)and laughing with you all.

I'm soooooo excited I just found out that Disny offering another discount during my trip time. I had heard about it and had been pin surfing for several days now its open to the public. Looks like I will save another $270 on top of the two free nights I had booked. I will only pay $100 more than last years 4/3 deal :cool1::cool1: I can't believe we get to go to WDW two years in a row after waiting 15 years to get back. They have announced this will be the last year for these big discounts so WDW here I come. Now I just have to have a good week in May!!!! I'll need lots of pixie dust this spring.
sending the info to my agent:surfweb::dance3::dance3:

Wow Tigg, that is such good news about your savings!! :cool1:

But what do u mean that they have announced that these are the last years of discounts??!! :scared1:

I really hope that is not true, I was dreaming of going back next year!! :sad2:

WOW that makes me sad if there are not deals like there have been before.

If you look in the news section on the dis board Dec 9 Iger announced discounts will be fazed out late 2010. You might want to move up your plans if you can.

Wow, that would really stink! But FWIW, I've been an AP of some type or other, for over 20 years now, and I've never seen a time when there wasn't some type of discount - just times when you had to look a little harder for them, if you know what I mean!

Disney's been my "happy place" since I was in approximately kindergarden and my parents took me over there for the soft opening (my two cousins from Minneola were cast members).... they still had scaffolding on the castle, and I got to talk to a lady that was putting the mosaic tiles up on the tunnel. I just remember her being nice about answering my questions, as an adult, I'm amazed that I got to see what I did! I also remember the lobby of the Contemporary with the big mural of the kids playing - have pictures of me and Mom with that one.

I'm so glad I'm able to see my kids grow up "Disney" like I did, and that its close enough to visit frequently! I just wish that this blankety blank disease would let me experience it more fully with them! We've made a lot of accomodations that help, like the ECV, frequent stops, a really good plan that makes the most of the fibro fatigue schedule, etc., but, well, y'all know!

I keep trying to tell myself that I do have an excellent plan in place, and that I should be happy about that, but I guess I'm having a pity party today because I wanted to be there today, and with the cold and resulting arthritis problems, it just ain't happening!

BTW, anybody know anything about battery operated lights? I'm trying to figure out how to find a way to let myself see Wishes and Illuminations again - its my goal (one of them anyway) for 2010! I need to find a way to put a light in my Marvin the Martian figurine that sits on top of the flag on the back on my ECV. Said Marvin/flag is exactly at the average person's eye height, and works great during the day to let Disney crowds know that there is something 'down there', but at night it can't be seen, thus I'm trying to find a way to put a light of some sort inside Marvin (wish I could find a Figment!) to alert people to my presence, so I don't get trampled in the dark. It happens, even with my family forming a military guard around me, LOL! Unfortunately, I'm a techno doofus of the worst sort.

Hugs to all, and Happy New Year! May your fog clear, your fatigue fly and your pain flee!

I dont think Iger ment all discounts but DEEP discounts (sorry if I misled you). This year just like last my Family will stay at Poly Castle view room with all meals for $4900 with my discounts. I was just quoted over $7300:eek::eek: for the same at rack rates. I save $2400. The current offer they are really pushing is get a $500-$700 gift card. IMHO WDW will probably keep free dinning . Neither compair to my $2400 saving. Plus this year I'm going to use gift cards and get between $300-$700 in free gas from my supermarket perks plan:cool1::cool1: So I might pay as little as $4200!

If you had told me two years ago we would stay delux with Castle view I would have said you were crazy. Two years in a row unbelievable! I'm a frugal kind of girl. Old Yankee if you know what I mean. We hadnt taken a vacation of any kind in YEARS, but with the Fibro I need the Monorail and with a party of 5 its suites or two rooms so financially its better to stay delux with all its perks. I loved POR with DH but I can't imagine 5 of us staying in those small rooms with a trundle :sad2: It would be a Fibro disater! DH insists on Castle view because of the deep discount and he says I'm worth it, isnt he sweet:love:

As for the Light have you considered putting on a bike light with double sided foam sticky tape on back? I just checked a website and there are lots of differnt kinds you should be able to find something.

Hi guys (errrr, girls). Sorry I've been MIA--the holidays and all--capped off by the NYE spectacular at my house. 12 adults and 5 kids--took me two days to recover--could hardly move NY day. Had spent NYE cooking all day--thankfully my best friend came and vacuumed my house for me, helped put on tablecloths, etc. Still I was pulling out silverware as guests arrived. But it was very fun.

Now I'm in the office trying to catch up on some admin stuff and not doing very well with it. Brain fog has set in.

Tigg--great news on the discounts! I own DVC but if I didn't I would so jump on the current discounts!

Hope 2010 is treating everyone right so far

Talk to you all soon

Cheryl

I took meletonin and I'm still awake.:(.Bitter cold here below zero wind chill. WdW doesn't look much better heard may hit 20's YIKEs.even I wouldn't going swimming in those temps!LOL

Tigg,

I was awake last night too until about 2:30 am and up at 7 am:sick:

Ugg, I HATE getting up so early. I am sooo on the 3 or 4 am bedtime. I am really trying to stay awake now till bedtime, but don't think I will make it.

I take 30 - 40 mg of amitryptiline and still can't get to sleep earlier. I take it at dinnertime and still count sheep.

Colleges here might strike next week, and I am thinking YAY I get to sleep in. :rotfl: What does that say?? :scared:

Hi everyone :wave2: ,

My name is Kim and I suffer from fibro and Chronic Fatigue syndrome. I was invited to come over by Tiggsprig. Thanks! I am looking for job help. I can no longer work in my field of child care. I'm looking into medical billing and coding so if you have any info, please feel free to share. Is there anything else you'd like to know? I'm pretty open and easy to get along with. Look forward to talking with you. :)

Hi Kim,

Welcome!! I cannot help you with the coding, sorry. I used to work at a medical clinic but did not do coding or billing. It is a pretty sedentary job, so the only thing I know is that it might be good if you are having a bad pain day to be able to sit, but not good for your hands with the typing.

Hope that helps. New people are always welcome here.

Well not that good, but a lil good. So I bought the Wii Fit Plus and The Biggest Loser Game for the Wii. I have just really been playing on it till today. TOday I did 30 mins of light excercising which included Hula Hooping for 3 mins - 2 rounds each, a light jog, 2 rounds, a dance step routine 2 rounds , and a free step (which is stepping on and off the board) for 10 mins. while I watched TV> I also did some light yoga on The Biggest Loser for only 6 mins cause I was tired by then cause today was my Challenge Day for TBL!! Since I haven't done anything for a week I didn't lose any weight, but I did the challenge until I won which was 8 rounds.

HA! All that for onl7 200 or so calories burned. But that is my Timmie's coffee for the day, and at least I was moving. I also only ate 70% of the calories I burned, I'm supposed to eat more to lose weight it says.

But it was fun, and it took me about an hour off and on. This was light intensity for most of it and the jog and hula hoop were medium intensity. So all low impact.

I highly recommend either of these two games for keeping active for low intensity excercise. I will have to kick it up a notch to lose weight but I am hoping to strenghthen my muscles to get on my elliptical when my knees don't hurt.

This was me today :banana::banana::cool1::yay:

Hopefully tomorrow I will still be feeling like that I will let you all know. :woohoo:

Hope everyone has as little pain as possible.

Well I have been excercising at least 30 mins every day since I posted. I have not been sore as a result of doing these excercises. I am doing some beginner yoga, running in place, stepping, and hula hooping and boxing!!

I am having so much fun. And I have lost 4 lbs this week. But I don't know if that is from excercising or the flu I have had.

Ohhh I hope this works and I can actually lose weight.
