Wow, that would really stink! But FWIW, I've been an AP of some type or other, for over 20 years now, and I've never seen a time when there wasn't some type of discount - just times when you had to look a little harder for them, if you know what I mean!
Disney's been my "happy place" since I was in approximately kindergarden and my parents took me over there for the soft opening (my two cousins from Minneola were cast members).... they still had scaffolding on the castle, and I got to talk to a lady that was putting the mosaic tiles up on the tunnel. I just remember her being nice about answering my questions, as an adult, I'm amazed that I got to see what I did! I also remember the lobby of the Contemporary with the big mural of the kids playing - have pictures of me and Mom with that one.
I'm so glad I'm able to see my kids grow up "Disney" like I did, and that its close enough to visit frequently! I just wish that this blankety blank disease would let me experience it more fully with them! We've made a lot of accomodations that help, like the
ECV, frequent stops, a really good plan that makes the most of the fibro fatigue schedule, etc., but, well, y'all know!
I keep trying to tell myself that I do have an excellent plan in place, and that I should be happy about that, but I guess I'm having a pity party today because I wanted to be there today, and with the cold and resulting arthritis problems, it just ain't happening!
BTW, anybody know anything about battery operated lights? I'm trying to figure out how to find a way to let myself see Wishes and Illuminations again - its my goal (one of them anyway) for 2010! I need to find a way to put a light in my Marvin the Martian figurine that sits on top of the flag on the back on my ECV. Said Marvin/flag is exactly at the average person's eye height, and works great during the day to let Disney crowds know that there is something 'down there', but at night it can't be seen, thus I'm trying to find a way to put a light of some sort inside Marvin (wish I could find a Figment!) to alert people to my presence, so I don't get trampled in the dark. It happens, even with my family forming a military guard around me, LOL! Unfortunately, I'm a techno doofus of the worst sort.
Hugs to all, and Happy New Year! May your fog clear, your fatigue fly and your pain flee!
