Travel agents received this notice today. FFP+ for offsite is imminent.

CERTAIN OTHER GUESTS (DAY GUEST CLIENTS)

MyMagic+ and Disney Consumer-Direct Marketing
(Day Guest Clients)

The Walt Disney World® Resort is constantly looking for ways to make the guest experience even better. As a part of these ongoing efforts, last year we announced some very exciting news about MyMagic+, which is coming to the Walt Disney World Resort. We want you to know how critical our travel industry relationships are to the success of MyMagic+, and we're very excited to work with you on this new endeavor as it rolls out over the next several months.

We refer to those of your clients who purchase Disney tickets and who are not staying in select Disney resorts as "Day Guest Clients". While Disney FastPass+ service is not currently available pre-arrival to most of your Day Guest Clients, in the future, the benefits of MyMagic+ to your Day Guest Clients will be substantial. By engaging with the My Disney Experience web pages or the My Disney Experience mobile app pre-arrival, they'll have access to certain benefits, including reserving access to select attractions as well as designated viewing areas for select shows, parades and character meet-and-greet locations (via Disney FastPass+ service*).

When FastPass+ pre-arrival benefits are made available to your Day Guest Clients, you will continue to market and sell Walt Disney World tickets to these clients just as you do now, offering them the invaluable planning resources and expertise they value. The only difference is that after you have sold the tickets to your clients, you should direct them to visit StartYourDisneyExperience.com or use the My Disney Experience mobile app to unlock the benefits of MyMagic+.

The big question is how many days in advance. I'm betting less than the 30 days for AP holders.

That is the big question. I was thinking that they would be at 30 days also but we'll see.

For me, the golden question is when, I'll go to wdw in May and will stay offsite, so I want to be able to use MDE and make advanced reservations, even 15 days before arrival.

I'm still saying it will eventually be 60 days for AP and offsite, with on-site getting the +X advantage. If only because they still haven't changed the Terms&Conditions, posted over a year ago, that say MYW and AP holders will get 60 days.

In the FAQs it says they lowered it from 60 to 30 to increase spontaneity.

Well...guess what they just updated today? The TERMS & CONDITIONS!!!

They are dated 3/12, but it was still the December version posted as of yesterday, so the update lagged. And it now says (they STILL don't allow cut-and-paste):

The selection window for making FastPass+ selections may vary based on the type of admission ticket or pass that you use.

Still doesn't say anything about resort stays though. Weird.

Disney imposes a penalty, if you miss your dining ressie,, and late FP are no longer honored. This latest enhancement makes My Magic, even more restrictive. I'm surrounded..

The sooner the better. Just pull the trigger and be done with it.

Thank you for posting this. I so wish it was now - we leave in 13 days and I want to pre-book my fast passes!!!

Aha...

Sounds like they are still deciding. Wonderful.

Doesn't help me this time anyway :( I am purchasing race tickets for my family and they are only activated onsite. last time we got them the same day we arrived, but there will be no linking. Hopefully, this linking can be added later so those who are going to be onsite for special ticket events, which are paid for in advance. Maybe my next visit after this one :)

But, onsite guests receive the perk of booking earlier, than off site.

At present, yes. But it may well be that they just started the testing with onsite guests which is why they have the advantage in the meantime. When they first started sending testing invites for select Disney resort guests the window was only about 14 days (maybe 30?) Certainly less than 20 so time will tell

To recoup their investment, they need to encourage people to stay onsite or if they don't, buy an AP. I would expect a timing difference. Look at people who are willing to book "throwaway rooms" just to get a magic band and FP+.

I wonder if they will close that throwaway room feature if they do end up with different booking windows for onsite, AP offsite, and offsite non-AP.

Or maybe they won't care if you are willing to buy a room for one night.

Yes, but onsite guests have an advantage in booking dining ressies. I think, this part may stick around.
