Hi guys,

So I've gone from not going for two years to going this Christmas and next march. I've got a few questions and wondering if someone can help please?

So me and my best friend are going for Christmas and was wondering when is the earliest we can book the Eurostar? I know you can book over the phone earlier but if we go in November when can I phone to book?

Also in regards to Eurostar we have only ever paid £69 return before and would like to get the same again but also want to book hotel, so will hotel be available to book by then?

Next march will be myself, bf, sil, bil, nephew (will be 5) and niece ( will be 2) we have never been with children before so was wondering if the adults wanted to ride crush for instance how would we go about it with looking after the kids?

Also it will be nephews birthday and I'm thinking birthday cake in cafe mickey has anyone done this and if so how much does it cost and is it worth it?

Bf family have never been before to either Florida or Paris whereas myself and bf have been to both. We obviously know a fair bit but don't want to rush ahead and miss things for them so what are peoples things they love doing? Has anybody been with newbies before any tips?

In regards to under 7 plays and stay free is this always on as never really taken notice before?

I'm sure there will be more questions.

I'm just dying to book Christmas now....hurry up lol.

Thanks for reading :thumbsup2

Can't help with the eurostar I'm afraid, we always drive

They offer child swap, some of the adults ride whilst someone stays with the children. That adult can then enter the ride through the exit to avoid queuing again. You need to speak to the CM at the entrance to the attraction before anyone rides.

Also it will be nephews birthday and I'm thinking birthday cake in cafe mickey has anyone done this and if so how much does it cost and is it worth it?

We did this. The cake is about E24 (probably a bit more by now because that was last year) We had characters come over with the cake and it was tasty. If you are too full to eat the cake there they will box it for you to take away with you

Bf family have never been before to either Florida or Paris whereas myself and bf have been to both. We obviously know a fair bit but don't want to rush ahead and miss things for them so what are peoples things they love doing? Has anybody been with newbies before any tips?

We went with newbies last year and had a great trip. We looked at plenty of menus together beforehand to decide where to eat. When in the parks we tried to do as much as possible in terms of rides/shows etc but used our knowledge from previous trips to minimise queuing

Yes it is always on apart from it is children under 12 jan-mar

I'm sure there will be more questions.

hope this helps

Thanks for those answers very helpful.

In regards to the child swap, could my SIL and BIL ride while we look after the children and then we ride straight after while they look after them?

Glad the under 7s is always on means they both go free. When planning starts I will tell my SIL about the price of cake etc. in regards to 2 year olds food do you have to buy them a meal?

Don't know if anyone else has this, but my nephew loves cars and toy story but hasn't seen much of mickey etc but does know who they are any tips for getting him into Disney?

Thanks again.

If I were you I'd phone and get put on the list for the Eurostar. We're going in June and booked the seats months ago and I mean months ago. We had phoned to ask when they were being released and they said the next month. We thought they were joking as it was so far away but we put our names down and they actually phoned the next day and let us book our tickets! We booked our train tickets after we had booked our hotel room but we got a early booking discount. The sooner you book the cheaper the prices are.

Hiya, Im doing the same, and booked my eurostar about three months ahead of time, even at that time the train i wanted to get, at 9.15 was a little higher and so the cost came to £80, so i advise like four or five months really at least. for hotels you can do alot sooner, i booked on laterooms.com, surprisingly as the title might suggest its not late rooms, you can do a year in advance, and rooms at the resort or neighbours (i booked kyriad) were quite cheap, with travel and hotel together around £200 for a three day trip, also advantage of laterooms was that your card only holds you a reservation, you dont pay anything until you check out of the hotel at the end of your trip, so unlike other travel sites you dont have to pay the actually money now for the room.

We booked our Eurostar tickets for May in September last year, so 8 months in advance, and this was online rather than over the phone. I think the best thing to do is to keep checking online and also ringing too to see if you can be put on a list.

I think that I saw someone else mention on another thread that you can already book for November with Eurostar over the phone. We booked at the beginning of September for June, so 10 months in advance, so I would try calling now and asking. xxx

When I phoned Eurostar this morning, I was told that they were booking until the end of December.

Not sure about the child swap question to be honest I know people often take an older child back on with them for a second go though. It might depend on the CM at the time so ask before anyone queues.

2 year olds will eat for free in buffets and in other restaurants they can eat from your plate or you can pay for them to have their own meal. In the steakhouse in the village and in Auberge our 2 year old at the time was given a free childrens main because we were all eating from the set menus. I have seen other reports of this happening but it is not publicised anywhere and is very hit and miss.

To get him into Disney try watching the disney junior channel if you can get it, they show mickey mouse clubhouse several times a day. :goodvibes

Thanks for all you responses. I will ring Eurostar later and see what dates they have as we know we want to go Monday-Wed late nov. The thing is do I book Eurostar now and I'm stuck with specific dates or do I wait until hotel prices are out and then book Eurostar?

Jothp- Thanks for your response. It may be a case that my SIL and BIL just get a meal for my Nephew and Neice can eat off various plates. He has seen some clubhouse mickey before so may buy him some DVDs for his birthday. He's my nephew so not up to me what he watches day to day but I will accidentally put the Disney junior channel on when he's over ours :rotfl2:

Thanks again.
