I checked the FAQ first....but still have some questions

1. Is there a yearly use/maintenance fee for the DVC and what is it, do you have to pay if you do not go to your resort one year

2. Can you "bank" points if you do not use them, is there a limit on how many you can accumulate

thanks

1. Yes, there is an annual maintenance fee, due in January each year regardless of whether you use your points that year or not. It goes for all maintenance and overhead of the DVC resorts, plus a reserve for major repairs down the road.

They are currently about $4 per point...though it varies from one home resort to another.

2. You can actually bank your entire point allocation from one year to the next. You can bank 100% of your annual allotment if you do so 6 months prior to the end of your use year. You must use them in that following year or they expire and you lose them.

You can also borrow points from one year into the prior year. This is only done at the time of making a reservation that uses up all of that year's current points and any banked points.

Yes there is. It averages around $4.00 per point but varies by resort. I'm sure someone will post the exact figues. Yes you have to pay that amount no matter what.

Can you "bank" points if you do not use them, is there a limit on how many you can accumulate

You are allowed to use 300% of your total at any one time. You can bank points into the next year. Then you can borrow the points from the following year. And of course use the points from the current year, which gives you 300% of your total.

yes, you have to pay the yearly maintenance fee. The fee is based upon the number of points you have and your home resort.

Yes, you can bank them, the limit is one years points. So if you have 200 points per year, that's the most you can bank. The next year, you can use your regular 200, plus your banked, plus you can borrow the next years points for a total of 600 points.

It is not a flat fee like traditional timeshares, it is a cost per point and as others have stated it is approximately $4.00 per point. Maintenace on Saratoga Springs right now is $3.8005, so if you have 150 points, it would be $3.8005 x 150 = $570.08 for the year.
