Started out with one night at All Star Sports. It was cheaper to stay there, than the airfare on Saturday. Haven't stayed there for over a decade. We had a handicapped room. Bed was almost too low for DH, but bathroom was amazing. We really liked the "kitchen " chairs in the room. So many chairs are so light as you are trying to sit, they move. These were very sturdy and a good weight. We had a very good location, but I feel sorry for those whose rooms faced the football field. Food court was a zoo in the morning.

We spent our next night at AKL Jumbo. Yes , another one night stay by choice. Wanted to see resort, eat at resort but knew we didn't want to do buses too much. We had a good room as far as location and saw animals in the evening , but none in the morning. It was very close to the outlook spots but on the 4th floor.

We had done one night of dining plan. For us, we came out ahead cost wise ,but mostly due to the mugs.

We had gotten the scooter this day. I had requested a walker holder and at first glance, it looked like with a few bungy cords would work to hold a rollator. But it stuck out further than I thought and I felt it would give DH issues with driving. I asked them to take it back. I ended up pushing DH's rollator everyday. He would use it for going to the restrooms, at a few restaurants and one ride.

Next 6 nights we were at BLT. Great room. Amazing room. Look to the right, lake view, look to the left , loading dock, but look ahead, see space mountain and fireworks. And on the same floor as the bridge. In the morning, we walked/rode over to MK and took the monorail back. The monorail station is so congested in the morning, it's crazy with people and scooters and strollers.

Then moved to 6 nights at BCV. Good view, not as wonderful as BLT but good. We could see a lot of fireworks from room. Was behind the land building, could see about 50% of the globe. Took us until the last day to learn how to use tv remotes. We figured out some functions the first day, but didn't really get it until the last day. The dryer need a visit from maintenance. Door would pop open every 5 mins. I had some tape with us, so that worked, but not everyone carries tape. By the way, I bring tape to wrap up cases of soda /water if we are moving to another resort. Tape on caps on gallons of water or even wamart bags so groceries don't spill all over.

We did the split stay to reduce transportation use. We were on buses maybe 6 times. Never did DH have to back up onto a bus. Once he got on bus which was empty and turned around into the new system. He did have to back up onto monorial a couple of times. Depending where you are getting off, you drive on forward and get off going forward. To get from BCV to HS, we use the skyliner. Maybe not the fastest, but easier than trying to get in and out of boats with playing tetris with other scooters, strollers, people.

We were denied DAS this trip. We bought LL three times. Used it for MK twice and HS once. One MK day, we hopped over to Epcot and got a couple of rides. If it wasn't for DD checking our account, we'd never manage to get on the limited rides we did. Sure we could have done it, if we wanted to do 5 rides over 12 hours, but trying to do it in a shorter time, it took checking and checking. We did go to MK a third day, but only did shows that day. No rides. Once we asked at safari for help (wait was 45 and handicap truck always take even longer) and was told to talk to LL CM. We were told since it wasn't too busy, they let us go in. But it came with a warning, not to expect this every time.

Epcot storytellers. We managed to see most of them in one day in a 5 hour spread. Note, they don't all talk where the sign is. And Norway has stroller parking is the same spot as the storyteller. During the performance, people were trying to get strollers out.

The trip was hard on DH, but it seemed CMs were more helpful this trip than in the past. Only slightly bad spot was at SSE. I pushed him up the ramp in a wheelchair to the ride. After the ride, they stopped the belt about 10 seconds before the door would open on our car ( there was a group of about 10 people that needed help that boarded at once). There was a CM going to several cars asking "you needed a wheelchair???". DH said several times, I think that's for me. But no one heard. I stood up and was told to sit again. You could hear the CM say to another CM........" I was told a wheelchair was needed" and then left with it. DH just walked down the ramp, he had his cane and me and then the railings.

And even though we were there for two weeks, we didn't see everything we wanted. The energy just didn't last long enough. Was glad there was a fantasmic at 7:30. One day we left the room at 3, hopped to GF to listen to music, took boat to FW and ate at trails end, looked at a few decorations and was home by 8. DH felt like that was a whole day, as if we left for the parks at 9 am.

We spent some time saying good bye.......remember when this happened. Remember 40 years ago, the kids did that. We do have tons of memories with trips of just us, with kids and grandkids.
