I'm looking at all options .....
We have always used the buses primarily to get from resort to park, etc.

But just wondering if a taxi would be worth it to us in some situations....

If we are headed from BWV to FW for the Hoop-de-doo are there taxis running between these? what if we were to be at AK to the HDD?

Are there taxis available at all the parks? from open to close? or later than closing?

Would a taxi take us from BWV to Contemporay so we could then walk to MK? or would they have to drop us at TTC?

any info on the routes of the taxis is appreciated!!! :thumbsup2

haha.... it's still 255 days and we are already excited and planning like crazy!!!:lmao:

oh..... and what are the typical fares? :goodvibes

In terms of fares, Mears has an handy fare estimator:

Overall, most taxi rides within WDW cost between $15 and $20, plus tip.

If you want to save time, then yes, taxis will be worth it. It's just a matter of if you're willing to spend the money or not.

When we stayed at the BW last year, there were taxis waiting near the main entrance all day long. If you don't see one, you can ask to have one called for you.

I know that there are taxis at Epcot and MK, so I would assume they are also at DHS and AKL. The stand for Epcot is by the buses and at the MK it is over at the TTC.

It depends on where you ask the taxi to take you. If you say MK, then they will take you to the TTC. If you ask for the Contemporary, they will take you there. You might mention you're going to walk from the Contemporary to MK and they might drop you off by the guard gate, which will cut down the walk.

My family used the taxi to get from resort-to-resort (easier than trying to deal with buses). Overall, it's much faster than waiting for a bus, but the costs can mount up if you're using them a lot.

Thanks figment_jii for the info!!!

I'm thinking we will probly use it just a couple times.... like to get to Hoop-de-do.
One more question..... how big are the taxis? there will be 8 of us....
or do you think we'd have to call for a larger van? thanks!!

You may want to check further on taking a cab to HDDR. The cab may have to drop you off at the entrance to FW and you still may need to take an internal FW bus from there.

really? where exactly is the HDD?
If this gets too complicated getting to HDD we may just do the Luau. :confused3

It's not complicated. It's no harder to get to Hoop De Doo than it is to the Luau.

Take the bus to MK, then take the ferry to Fort Wilderness. Pioneer Hall is about a 2 minute walk from the marina.

If you take a cab, you'll need to use the internal bus system at Fort Wilderness (which I'm not at all familiar with.)

Some times a taxi may save time but others it may not. I would just take a bus to MK from BWV as then you can bypass the TTC or the walk from the contemporary.
