Our family is planning to go to DL next year from June 23 - July 7 (2008). This will be a leisure trip... Approximately how far in advance should we begin booking? We want to get a DTD view room, with balcony. There will be five of us...do any of those view rooms have suites?

Also, when do the extended summer hours come into play for the parks?

If your date is "firm"... book now. :surfweb:
When you make your reservation, inform them of ALL of your preferences at that time. :chat:

You can call Vacation Planning Services first and get the answers to all of your questions before you book.

Sorry, I can't help you with your summer hours question. I avoid Disneyland at all costs during the summer. It is not even imaginable. :scared1:

it's full on hours now so mid-late june,disneyland.com has the rates... Have fun with your planning:goodvibes

Just returned from Disneyland and stayed at the GCH. It was beautiful and very close to everything. Check the Disneyland website for park hours. I don't know how far in advance they post them.

We just returned from Disneyland :thumbsup2 and had a two bedroom suite at the Grand Californian. Ours was a corner suite (5th floor) on top of the World of Disney so we looked into Disneyland and down into Downtown Disney and into California Adventure - quite a view :thumbsup2 but quite a distance from the elevators. Let your travel agent or hotel booking agent know what you'd like ASAP as there are only so many suites with a great balcony.

That sounds like a great suite, how much was it per night?

what are the sleeping accommodations in the suite?
We are staying at DL for 3 nights prior to our cruise next year and trying to decide where to stay.

Thanks.

We had a package from Disney Travel so when I take off the park hopper tickets the 2 bedroom suite was about $425.00 a night. The master bedroom had a king sized bed and the 2nd bedroom had 2 queens - each had a bathtub/shower with toilet in its bathroom and 2 sinks outside. You can request a king or 2 queens - lots of room and GREAT beds. :cool1:

That's not bad at all, actually.

I wonder if there is a minimum stay to get the park hoppers. That sounds like a great room. Do you get concierge service with the suite too?

How many days did you go to the parks?

Wow, great price! How far in advance did you book the package? I was quoted in the $800/night range for anything like a 2-bedroom, $600 for a 1-bedroom and $350+ for a standard view room. That rate sounds AMAZING, especially for summer!

wow that was a good rate. We stay thee all the time and the summer, holiday rates are around $400 per night for just a reg. room

As far as a balcony I believe all the rooms have balconies.

I think the reason we got the great rate was we went June 2nd-10th before NEMO and Fantasmic! and we booked in January. ;) I have found the earlier you book (resort or cruise) the better rates and upgrades you get :cool1: also we went before the busy season. I also used my Disney VISA so I don't know if that helped. :) We enjoyed the suite so much that I'm thinking of trying to get a suite on the MAGIC in 2009. :confused3
