Festive cocktails for my party tomorrow night

Oh, the candy cane mojito would be my pick, although I love mojito's! I also love Chambord (a raspberry liquor) with champagne, that would be pretty and Christmasy too. Here is one I just found on my mixology app (first time using it!ha ha ) christmas kiss: 1/2 oz chambord 1/2 oz kahlua. fill a shot glass 1/2 way with kahlua and top off with chambord. Gingerbread mojito: 4 lime juice, 4 mint leaves, 1/4 oz dark rum, 1 oz monin gingerbread syrup, 1 oz soda. Peppermint hot cocoa: add 1oz peppermint schnapps in a mug of hot cocoa. This would be pretty: candycane: 4oz pina colada mix, 4oz strawberry margarita mix, 1 1/2oz light rum, 1 1/2oz malibu rum: mix the pina colada mix with the light rum. Separately, mix the strawberry mix with the malibu rum. Fill a glass with crushed ice, fill the glass 2/3 full with pina colada and pour the strawberry over the pina colada.

Sounds like an awesome time, have fun!

2bearsmom: My first year I did the champagne and chambord (called it a poinsettia) and everyone loved them. They're nice and light, too. Your other recipes sound delish, too.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

They serve this at our office Christmas Party--nummy.

All of your drinks and food sound great! Any of the drinks you listed would be fine. Have a fun party!

Pomtini. It is THE Christmas cocktail.:cloud9:

This is the winner! I also love chambord and champagne! I don't like drinks that are too sweet, or with mint or chocolate. Make sure to also serve wine for those that don't drink hard alcohol.

Appetizers--but lots of 'em: shrimp cocktail, veggies & dip in pumpernickel bread, cheese & crackers, hummus & pita chips, kielbasa slices, buffalo chicken dip, pepper jelly w/cream cheese, water chestnuts wrapped in bacon, artichoke dip, little wieners wrapped in pastry dough, and about 2-3 other things. Why, ya wanna come, too?

Seriously. I can be in CT in about 6 hours. Do you mind a 70 lb puppy tagging along? I'm still voting for the cosmo-thingy.

My favorite is a raspberry cosmo. Use the same recipe as a regular cosmo except use raspberry vodka and leave out the lime juice.

My new favorite drink is a Sunburn Margarita but due to the ingredients you could easily change the name to something Christmassy. It's just a margarita with a splash of cranberry juice...enough to make it pink but not too red.

Cranberry Bog Cocktail
3 parts sparkling wine (champagne)
1 part cranberry juice
garnish with fresh cranberries

I do this when people bring over cheaper bottles of the sparkling wine (my in-laws have brought Balatore which I don't care for) and it has gone over well.

Your menu sounds fabulous! :)

I serve kir royales at my Christmas Eve party. It's made by pouring a shot of cream de cassis (a blackberry flavored liqueur) into a champagne flute and filling the flute with champagne (a good inexpensive one is Freixenet Brut).

As suggested by PPs, you can do the same thing with Chambord instead of the cream de cassis. I'd make it with whichever liqueur you have, but if you have to buy one, the cream de cassis will be a lot less expensive.

OP - will you post your "Recipes" for the Gingerbread and Christmas Cosmos?

I just need the ratio of the ingredients...

I tend to go heavy on the alcohol if I leave it up to my judgement... :upsidedow
