Festival Center for Flower and Garden

I recently heard that they would not be using the old wonders of life pavilion for the center. Wondering if there’s any truth to that rumor and if so where is the festival center going to be? We wanted to go but it was a little off the beaten path for touring plan so hoping the new location is more convenient.

I think they won't be using it. Just saw that the pick-up location for AP F&G Magnets is at Fountain View Hallway (behind Club Cool). Seems like a bizarre place.

Well I guess we will know in the next few days as the festival opens! I hope it is down at the old innoventions buildings as that would be much closer

My guess is The Odyssey-they've been using it a lot-most recently for Festival of the Arts.

They've had Passholder "pick-ups" there before-there is a room off of the Hallway.

Somewhere I saw a partial map posted that didn't have the Wonders of Life building marked, so I think the festival center will be elsewhere. I hope so, anyway, and that it isn't just gone. I really liked the seminars and demonstrations on our last two Flower & Garden trips and had already enlisted my teens to take DD9 off wandering with them for a bit if there was something going on in the festival center that interested me while we're there next week.

Judging from that,it appears there will not be a Festival Center anywhere this year.

WOW!The Festival has gone from the AMAZING Festival Centers when HGTV was the sponsor to no Festival Center at all it appears.

Wait a sec. You mean there's an actual exhibit for the Flower and Garden show? I thought Epcot was just done up in lots of flowers. I was there 5 years ago and can't believe i missed it. Will be sure to check it out this March.

It looks like this year will be the first without a Festival Center.

The Festival Center was in the Wonders of Life building and featured seminars,book signings,merchandise,a Topiary display,etc.

And when HGTV was the sponsor,many HGTV personalities would make appearances.

On the rumors board, a few of the insiders have said that there was a roof leak in the center that caused damage and is more likely the reason for not using the Festival Center this year.

It was mentioned, but not as the reason for the closure, just that it had leaked for a long time. It was reported on that thread that they were painting the exterior a few months ago, so maybe the roof has been repaired, who knows. WDWNT seems to think that it will be re-purposed. The fact the Disney management and engineers were touring it recently raises speculation as to it's future.

They still could have had a "mini" Festival Center in The Odyssey similar to Festival of the Arts.

I can't say I'll miss it. It was only open on weekends, unlike during F&W when it's open all week. I never really found a lot to do there and we are rarely there on the weekends, our trips for F&G seem to run Mon thru Friday with us leaving Friday morning. It will be interesting to see what they do for F&W since they always have the little food and wine demos and tastings there. I'd hate to see those go away.

F&G has seen better days.

The Festival Center used to be open 7 days a week and the Concerts were 7 days a week.

And when HGTV was the Sponsor,the Festival Center really BLOOMED(pun intentional!lol).

The roof is in the process of being refurbished.

I will miss the Workshops. My Ohio garden still has wildflowers blooming from the seed balls we made 5-6 years ago!
