Fertilizer question

A very well meaning neighbour fertilized our lawn today. The problem is that we have a 1 year old who loves to play on the lawn. How long do I have to wait until she can crawl around? If we water it will it go faster? I know he meant well but this is a lond weekend here in Canada and the weather is beautiful and I cannot imagine not letting her play outside for the whole weekend!

You need to water it anyhow or it could burn your grass!
It needs to be wet for the fertilizer to sink in so water it and then allow 24-48hrs for the grass to dry.
