Fern Frenzy!

Okay, guys.....I gotta tell you....I just walzed in from a world wide tour of garden centers.....seeking the elusive FERN!

Waddaya mean, ELUSIVE.....you say......


Well, for reasons I cannot fathom.....FERNS are NOT CONSIDERED SEXY!!

"NO BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!".....at least for most....

Ferns don't flower the entire summer. Not even ONCE! Ferns just ARE! Their feathery fronds just sway in the breeze....always cool, always dainty, always ladylike. They never take center stage vying for attention, bursting into bloom....shouting, "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!!!" They just wait.....cool, calm and collected for you to notice them.

Today I bought 2 cinnamon ferns and 2 ostrich ferns. I have a Christmas fern and a Japanese painted fern.......

Do you notice ferns???

Do you like them???

Do you plant them???

Inquiring fernheads need to know.....

now in case you haven't noticed.....I rather LIKE ferns....

Who says ferns aren't sexy? Fiddleheads to them!! Those swaying feathery fronds are downright seductive! Enticing you into the dark, shadey corners of your gardens, to check them out.

We have some ferns. Japanese Painted ferns, Korean Rock ferns, and Ostrich ferns.

I don't understand some people, haven't they ever heard of the Dance of the Seven Ferns?

I really like ferns too. For some reason, they just don't like me - I've never been able to grow one! I have a great moist, shady garden and ferns would look great there.....but all of the ones I've tried just die. I guess I'm not much of a fernhead.

Ferns are just ok to me. The old saying "you want what you can't have" holds true. They grow everywhere here and there are bunches around our yard.
