Okay, this is not something you would usually discuss here, but I find you guys/gals so helpfull otherwise, I gotta ask. ;)
My problem is: I have been fighting blackheads (YUCK!) on my nose and chin as long as I can remember. I am 27yo and I am fed up!!! I have tried anything I can think of, and nothing REALLY seems to get rid of them. Biore strips help for about a day and then they are back.
I've been to a dermatologist in the past only to determine that he really wasn't listening to me and I would be going there forever with no results.
I am a Mary Kay consultant :) so I have plenty of skin care products at my fingertips to use ( masks, toners, oily skin cleansers etc.) which all work, don't get me wrong( !) I looooove my Mary Kay product!! My problem isn't ACNE it is those darn blackheads!!
I know this isn't pleasant, but I am desperate :confused3
Anybody out there know of any tried and true measures? :grouphug: Im up for anything!!!
Laser peels, plastic surgery :earseek: Like I said I am desperate!

I was having the same problem so I had a facial and had them all extracted. Then I started using Pevonia exfoliating scrub and Pevonia Glycolic Cream. If I use the scrub 2-3 times a week and use the Glycolic Cream daily I don't have a problem with blackheads. That's the only brand of Glycolic Cream I've ever used but I'm sure other brands will work. Good luck!

Thanks for your quick reply bengalbelle!!!!!!
What kind of facial was it in particular if you remember?? And where do you get the products? Online, or through a shop?

I had a European Facial. I'm going back in a few weeks for a lacto-something facial. I can't remember exactly what it's called but she recommended it for me because I tend to breakout around my chin and my skin is very dry. It's along the lines of a glycolic facial, but she said it goes a little deeper. Here's a link the salon and their descriptions:

I don't know why the lacto facial is not listed, but I can tell you more after I have it done.

As far as the Pevonia products I love them!!! I've tried lots of different things and they work the best for my skin. I've had lots of people compliment me on my skin since I've been using it. I buy it at my salon and I've seen it at other salons. I also bought some of the sample sizes of Caviar Cream off EBay.

Here is a link to the Pevonia products:

I am trying the different cleansers now (sample sizes). I like the Phyto Gel cleanser and the one for dry skin.
I also use the Exfoliating Cleanser 2-3 times a week.
I use the Glycolic Cream and Caviar Cream at night.

I'm in no way even close to an expert on skincare and/or products. I've just tried lots of products and I've dealt with breakouts on some level since I was a pre-teen. Pevonia is by far the best I've ever used. My skin looks completely different when I use it, and I contribute most of that to the Glycolic Cream.

:flower: bumping - wondering if anyone else has anything to say

I have a similar problem

The one product that has really helped me is ProActiv. It really works. People say they can see a big difference in my skin. My skin tone is lighter. It really gets rid of the blackheads. Good Luck!

I have tried ProActiv, it's been a while, but I don't think I gave it long enough.
I know a lot of people use it and like it though!

Anyone else????? Household remedy's????? :listen: :wave2:

Oh yes it takes time. If you decide to go with ProActiv buy the "Advanced Blemish Treatment". This is what I use along with the kit.

Thanks for everybody's replies so far! :flower:

I have contacted a plastic surgeon and they have a skin care regimen. I'm guessing it would be like the ones you can do from the derm's office.
Does anyone know or have experience with those?
Any other ideas? :teeth:
