I don't know what it is, but lately my deoderant hasn't been working. I am stinky by the end of the day. Any suggestions? I have been using Ban solid (tried Sure, Secret, Dove, Degree, Mitchum). Anyone tried the Clinical strength options from most companies? I prefer solid over roll-on. Thanks!

Funny you should ask....
I just asked my doc the same thing this week. He recommended Certain Dri. I had never heard of it before - he said after showering at night dry and apply. There is also a formula for day use. He said it would help out tremendously. I am going to the store tomorrow and am getting it then. Sure beats the botox that I thought I was originally going to have to ask for - apparently my hormones are going bonkers is the cause.

Hope this helps,

Certain Dri works really well. The only problem is if you skip a couple of days you can be a little stinky.:rotfl:

Certain Dri works really well. The problem I had with it is that I had trouble getting used to the night time application; which is why I don't use it currently. I really think I might have to start again. It was so nice not having wet pits. I too prefer a solid, but alas, Certain Dri is a roll on, which I'm not super fond of. Hate having to wait for it to try. If I don't wait, I'm always paranoid that it rubbed of while drying and I'm going to end up smelling, lol.

A word of warning. If you shave your armpits when you shower, do not apply the Certain Dri right away. It stings like you would not believe!

My daughter uses the Clinical Strength, two applications a day, and has been very happy with the results.

I love the Secret Clinical Strength - and the new Waterproof version was perfect for Disney World!

If your deodorant recently stopped working I would have your dr run a blood panel to check your thyroid. Mine was out of wack and make me stink.

For deodorant the best one I have found is the Degree Clinical Strength. Helps control the odor the best IMO.

I use the clinical strength ones during the warm months, they really work well. I shower in the morning so that's when I apply it and it works just fine. I even forgot to put it on one moring and the application from the day before lasted the previous day and through my shower, and most of the way through the second day. So it does work really really well. I mostly use Secret since it's the best price, but I will also use the Degree. The other brands don't seem as good as these two. I belive one was Dove, and the other may have been Ban.

I use the clinical strength by Sure. it's the same formula as the Secret's clinical strength, but quite a bit cheaper (plus look in the box for a $2 coupon). I normally sweat like crazy and actually used a prescription anti-perspirent at one point, but the clinnical strength stuff works good for me and doesn't burn like Certain Dri or the prescription ones.

It does work best if applied at night, but I most often shower and apply in the morning.

In Florida, I rely on the Secret clinical strength. I much prefer it to the RX antiperspirant I used in my teens (with that I'd be dry but reeking, with Secret, not an issue). In regular life, I prefer natural deoderants/antiperspirants because my skin's not crazy about aluminum, but the clinical strength doesn't make me itch.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer - not immediately after shaving :scared:. (Deodorant makes my armpits itchy and rashy.)

I use the Secret Clinical Strength and am very happy with it.

I'm a fitness instructor and I can't stand that icky oniony smell of sweat. I have to double up on stuff. Here's my regime..

I use the Secret Clinical stuff at night after I've showered. The directions say to put it on at night when you're sweat glands aren't as active.

Just for my own sake, I put on Dove deodorant in the morning too. I just like the way the cucumber one smells and I'm double protected.
:thumbsup2

with the Secret clinical strength. I like this one better than the Degree one and it keeps me dry.:thumbsup2

Have you tried using something like shower to shower body powder in conjuction with the antiperspirant? This seems to work for me, even down in Disney. We were there last week and we were at 93 % humidity and upper 90's for the temperature and it worked wonderful for me.

What a good question! I'm going to have to switch mine, too. I have been using the Dove for Sensitive Skin for years, but over the last few months I have noticed it is not working that well. Thanks for the suggestions! I think I will try the Dove Clinical Strength.

Glad to see (well, not really glad, but you know what I mean!) that others have this problem. I have been using Dove for sensitive skin in the morning after showering and even though the pits stay mostly dry, they don't smell that nice by late evening--or if it's been a really warm day. I have thinking about trying something else and I think I am going to try the suave clinical strength. Only question is---if you apply it at night if you haven't showered, aren't you just putting it on top of the sweat from the daytime and if you shower in the morning like I do, do you have to reapply it again anyway?

I just got back from WDW and used the Secret Clinical. I applied it at night. I take my showers at night anyway. I didn't have any issues. I just read in my Consumer Reports that any deodorant, Clinical or not, works best if applied at night. Even if you shower in the morning.

At night a use Secret Clinical Strength I do take baths at night but when I don't I just use it anyways. But I use regular stuff in the am too.

I knew I could count on guys-thanks so much!

I am going to Wal-Mart tomorrow for the Secret Clinical strength.

I love Shower to Shower and will use that at Disney when we go in August. I hear it can be a bit humid in the summer months :lmao:
