I ran on my dangerous road yesterday with my WISH shirt. Typically, I wear brighter colors and run during the bright part of the day. Cars only occationally really slow down as I pass. Usually it feels like they play, how close can I get without hitting this guy. With the safety color shirt on, I noticed that a remarkable number of people really solwed down and geve me more room.

My theory is that the safety color is the first thing that people see when it enters the line of sight and the brain registers it more quickly. It's kind of like saying, "this guy is wearing this crazy bright color. He must want to run safely and I will help him with this by giving him more room". I will be wearing the WISH shirt more as I run this particularly dangerous road.

My suggestion would be for you to wear on your WISH shirts on your training runs also and see the difference for yourself. Let me know if you have a different experience.

Scott, I agree.

During the months when the sun sets earlier here, I make sure I wear either a white shirt, or any of my WISH shirts. Not only am I more visable, I get lots of compliments on the slogan on the back.

Never hurts to advertise our great group.

I am considering getting one of these shirts. With more and more drivers on phones or texting, anything to help one stand out is a plus.......

Great idea Scott. My weekly runs are on the road in my neighborhood but those are at night and I wear a construction vest and lights. Otherwise I don't run on the road although I do cross a few busy intersections.

I also had one of the shirts on the other day and a group/pack whatever of bicyclists passed on a paved trail and said they could see me a from a mile away. I said thanks!

On another note, I am amazed at the people that walk and or run in the mornings or evenings that wear dark colors. Amazing.

Duane

I would definitely get one. Last year I was hit by a car and have changed a few things about my road running. This was a big one though.
