Fellow Teachers! Summer's Here/What are Your Plans?

Hello fellow teachers!!!!
Summer vacation is finally here! What plans do you have for your vacation?
We are in the middle of month long renovations in our house! It's taking longer than I expected, but we will be very happy with the results! Once that is finished we are heading to Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks of sun and fun! I'm also busy making plans for our Christmas trip to the WDW in December! It's our first trip during the Christmas season! I'm addicted to DISboards like most people are addicted to Facebook!

I hope everyone has a great summer vacation! The kids will be back before we know it and I wouldn't have it any other way!

School's Out School's Out!!

DH, my parents and I are taking a Disney cruise to Northern Europe!! That's our big plan. Other than that, DH and I are staying at home, relaxing, hitting the pool, and watching movies!!

Let's see: Last day was Thursday. So far, I've torn down most of the wallpaper in my bedroom, had my yearly mammogram this morning, and watched a couple of movies. Three weeks until we depart for St. Lucia. Plan on using my new IPad to read lots of books.

Lake house, boating, tubing, fishing!
Visiting relatives
Movies
a trip to Six Flags Chicago or St Louis (undecided) since we took our big vacation over Spring Break...
taking care of a ONE YEAR old!! that is hard work in itself... plus working a few extra days this summer for some extra dollars!

We have been out since the end of May. We have just been hanging out enjoying the time off. Well, I did go and take a class yesterday that I have a big project due for. Thursday, we will be heading to Disney and then next month we will be heading to Hawaii. Can't wait. All the rest will just be spent enjoying being off of work together.

Leaving for Universal and Disney in less than 2 days! Also working on my Master's Degree, doing planning for next school year, replacing part of the fence in my backyard, decluttering my house and babysitting every afternoon. That should be enough to keep me busy.

Amazing how we keep so busy during the summer!
My two kids keep me hopping-I'm the limo driver, camp counselor, and activity director rolled into one!
Sounds like everyone is having a great vacation so far!

Our last day is next Wednesday, so 7 more days to go

I'll be in NH all summer. I'll be there by July 1st and won't be back until the end of August. My district cancelled all workshops in the summer due to budget cuts (I usually attend a few of those through the summer). I plan on spending a lot of time kayaking, biking, hiking...

I will do some work though. I find that if I do, it makes my transition into September so much easier. Oh, and I will be watching sales for school supplies. We get zero money this year for supplies so I am depending on Staples to have some good penny sales this year.

I am still in school until the 24th. I just signed up for a two week course the beginning of Aug. Other than that I don't have anything planned.

Dh suggested that we go to Cape May for a couple of days but I need to think about son's dog who has been adopted by us.

Dh is going away for almost 3 weeks to work on the Boy Scout national Jamboree. I may go down for a weekend to see the closing ceremony.

Other than that it is kayaking and hanging around the house.

3 more days to go!!! I'm going to my DD's college orientation, a tech workshop through MTA, then cruising out of Baltimore for 9 nights
I'll be home for a few days before I head to Boston to watch the Red Sox vs. Detroit, then off to the Cape for a week

Our last day is not until JUNE 28th......Man am I counting the days!!! That evening I head to Detroit and the next morning we fly out to WDW. It will be one of many trips but the first as DVC members.. My kids are excited and DH and I are celebrating 15 years!! on this trip. Probably take the kids to a kids club while we enjoy an evening out. The rest of the summer I plan on spending by the pool, cleaning closets, having a yard sale, and doing some day trips and other small get aways. Probably take in a few musicals in Toronto and I am also looking forward to my daughter's triple threat classes production of HSM 2 which will be a big deal in our city. She will be at production classes everyday for 7hours until mid August. Which makes her

Our last day is the 17th, then I'm out for good!! I retired this year after 40 years. Still can't believe it and it probably won't really hit me till August when everyone goes back to school. But I'm planning a trip to Washington D.C. and Williamsburg with my niece and nephew.

We got out May 21st. We've already taken our summer vacation (DL and San Diego). I'm so sad its already over

Currently I'm working on cleaning and sealing the tile grout in our house, getting all the blinds cleaned up, cleaning the tile in the pool and maybe attacking a few overstuffed cabinets and closets.

In Az, we spend most of our time indoors in the summer. Lots of movies, bowling, and swimming. I only read during the summer so lots of trips to the library as well.

We have a camping trip planned in July in Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon.
