Fellas 40th Bday Treehouse Villa Trip!

Looks like you guys had a great time! What a nice idea for a 40th celebration - I liked the banner/polo shirt idea, too! You must have been incredibly spoiled with only 3 of you in a THV :thumbsup2.

I scrolled thru quickly so if you mentioned it I may have missed it - what THV # were you in?? We are staying in one in August.....what were any pros/cons to your THV location?

Thanks for sharing your trip :goodvibes.

What a wonderful Trip Report. I loved the pictures. Be there in 8 days. Hope you bought a nice gift for your wife.:lmao:

Thanks for the trip report - looks like you had a great time. Which golf course did you like better? Looking to squeeze my first round in at WDW this October and looking for some player feedback..........Thanks!

GREAT photos. Love the shirts!!

Well you have been inspirational to say the least. Unfortuantely for me it is my wife who gets the trip and I am relegated to the "Hall of Awesome. She's going with friend for three nights beginning of April.

Thanks for the photos and the TR, it was nice to live vicariously.

Happy 40th.

Jim

We were in 7056 - which was on the south side of the THV's. The location was GREAT - great view of the pool, near the bus stop, closer to the boat launch even, and a quick walk to Grandstand.

I would say if you were staying in THV's and didn't have your own transportation - any of the THV's on the south side would work!

Pros to THV's IMHO:
- we totally felts like we had our own space!
- no shared walls between neighbors
- the deck was awesome, as was the pit! Loved being able to walk downstairs and grill
- plenty of room (especially with only 3 of us)
- so peaceful - really cool

Cons:
- if you are in a hurry to get somewhere and don't have your own transport....well, you might have to wait a bit. It didn't bother us since we really weren't trying to get anywhere fast...but if I was with the kids, the extra stop every time could get trying with a 5 year old.
- It rained one night - getting from the THV to anywhere was really hard once the boats were pulled out of commission that night due to lightning
- You're secluded....we needed matches to cook the steaks and it was a looooong trip to the store.

Again, for our trip the location was perfect. We'd have annoyed neighbors with some noise if we were in the regular rooms I think (not that we were wild, but 3 guys talking and cooking can get slightly rowdy-ish at times).

We played Magnolia and Lake Buena Vista.

They are so different - LBV is an easier course for sure. I like how open it is and the fact it rolls through the resorts is cool.

Magnolia, though, was AWESOME. You really have to play the course as driving in the fairway on the wrong side of the fairway is worse than hitting the rough sometimes. Plus it has that cool Mickey cart at the start of the course and all that wildlife...so I'd choose Magnolia between the two. But I do love LBV....

Solution is to stay longer and play 'em both!

I'm no fool....well, not a huge fool anyway :)

Brought her back one of the Dooney and Burke WDW 40th Commemorative purses!

Jim - good man sending the wife on a trip! Course that means getting a fellas trip booked in the future should be all the easier.....just sayin ;)

ROGER THAT!!
I actually went with my brother for a 3-nighter a few years ago. She is the true champ in house.

DW and I are going for a nice 10Th Anniversary trip in Sept.

Ironically the husband of the friend she is going with was in the College Program years ago. He and I are already scheeming. Sshhhhh, don't tell.

What an awesome trip report! It looks like you all had a great time. Too funny about the bacon & the fire department. Loved the "ran out of tees" pic too. Thanks so much for taking the time to post a report. I really enjoyed reading it and looking at all your pics!:)

we tell friends and family all the time that disney is a fantastic place for all adult trips. i love to see other people having that kind of experience too! if for no other reason a great resort and the bus system acting as designated drivers is worth it alone lol.
