I received the above this morning, so I'm passing it along in the hope
there's something I don't know of. I don't think there is anything but I'd
love to be wrong!

Hi Pooshoney,
I don't know of any remedies for FIV, but tell your friend not to give up on that poor little kitten.
About 41/2yrs ago one of our cats was diagnosed as FIV, and we were told by the vet we were using at the time to have him put down, as he would probably only live for another six months.
Neither DH nor myself could bring ourselves to do this, so I took a chance of ringing round other vets in the area to see if anyone else was prepared to carry on treating him for his usual injections etc. Luckily we have a very good vets practice in the next village, and I'm happy to say that he is stll a very much loved family pet.
