How much will maintenance, taxes, and insurance fees be for a 160 pts at SSR? Thanks, James

I believe that for 2008, the maintenance fee (which covers everything that you listed) is $4.21 per point. So for 160 points, that would be $673.60 for 2008.

That is correct and a VERY small portion can be written off on your taxes if you file long form. Trust me, though, it's not enough to be significant, since some of your fees go to Mousekeeping, transportation, etc.

we've been told they will be $4.71 per point starting in May 09 but that could be subject to change although not likely- We are also looking and I am researching the heck out of it- LOL got to know it all before we jump on the bandwagon! That way nothing is a shock and we know what to expect-

(all of the DVC resorts have different rates of annual dues, BTW. moe is referring to AKV only...most likely it will be higher than $4.71 by 2009.)

Wow. I may be wrong, but that would really surprise me. That would be a 12% increase. Disney has the right to take up to a 15% increase per year, but most of the time, the increase is a modest 3 - 5%.

Time will tell, but thanks for the preparation. Now, at least if it's 12%, it won't be such sticker shock!!!

if moe's fees don't start till may 09, that means they are looking at kidani = AKV, and not SSR. which makes sense since $4.71 is the 2008 rate for AKV...but that will most likely change for 2009...

Annual fees have averaged about 3-5% increase per year - some years have been more some years have even gone down. Members will receive the proposed fee schedule prior to the annual meeting - which is held in early December each year. The fees will be finalized by a vote at that meeting and actual statements usually go out at the end of December. Fees are due and payable January 15 and are considered late after February 15 - unless you use the autodebit feature.
