Feeling sightly misled after purchase.

Last year we stayed in a Jambo Savannah view studio (lock off) with a roll in shower. A CM told me when I made the reservation it "would be assigned" at check in. At check in I confirmed our request (thankfully I had the printed reservations with my original notes with me) and the CM had to make a phone call and we ended up with Savannah view and I got my roll in shower thankfully.

Was it a savannah view booking or standard view - which can have savannah views? Assuming you booked on points?

It was Savannah View though we booked a few days on Priceline Standard View - not points but I had requested HA. We've stayed on points in Savannah View 1 BRV and it was close by to where we were this time. This was not the room Disney had allocated to us, but the CM understood I needed HA and made it happen and the availability was HA. We've been DVC since 1996...

Let me clarify that I knew to immediately call Disney Reservations once I had the Priceline confirmation.

Since there is no booking category for a studio savannah view I still suspect you were actually in a standard view category room - many have savannah views. Like BLT fully accessible rooms being only LV but with MK views it's very likely that they did it similar at Jambo with the standard view HA's having savannah views. It does not sound like you specified an HA room when booking? If not then it was lucky that they were open to be assigned to you. It used to be you had to call in to reserve the HA room but ADA laws required companies to make the booking of them fair and provide that ability online which was done 3 or more years ago. (Disney was way behind the hotel standards in this) We too have gotten our "request" for an HA room when the booking was a waitlist and we decided we would make due with whatever we got and to just go with the non-confirmed request. As I understand it they are the last rooms assigned if they are not specifically booked.

I for one am very grateful that Disney caught up and has made them bookable online. When we have to have it I like to know when booking that we got it and not the old system of booking a room and then calling in to hopefully get blocked into one. If they were already blocked then you might have lost the opportunity to switch you booking to a category where one was open.

It might well have been standard as it was a last minute change by the CM, but we were definitely on the Savannah. Priceline does not (or didn't last year) have an option for HA and I called Priceline immediately and they told me to call Disney. As mentioned the Disney call center rep told me "it will be assigned when you arrive", however, the CM was not happy that the call center did not note it or request it. A quick phone call got us the HA studio at check in.

I was unable to get an accessible 1BR OKW villa for 10 nights in October for this year (will bring a suction cup hand grip for shower) as people were "walking" but was able to get an additional 3 nights at BRV in a 1BR accessible....won't even go into the "walking" issue! We go to Disney because it is disability friendly for the most part and we know exactly how to get around.

I just looked and the info you were told by MS is correct. There is no HA accessible with roll in shower in the value room category. There is an HA accessible with tub but it is in the 1BR so at best you have the option for an HA accessible value 1BR or 2BR with tub.

I am sorry you were told incorrect information when you purchased. That has happened to people over the BLT HA room categories too.

There is an HA roll in shower option for standard view at Jambo and that appears to be it. It is also not an option for Concierge level nor apparently for savannah view where the HA is on the 1BR side.

However Kidani has HA studios with both roll in showers and tubs in standard view and savannah view.

We had a roll in shower HA 1 bedroom on club level about 11 years ago, savanna view side.

I was given a HA 1BR CL villa in April. Savanna view. It had a tub, not a roll in shower.

They may have changed it, it was 2008. I’m positive it had the roll in shower because we originally had a pool view. It was my friend’s 50th birthday trip and she was really disappointed with pool view. The concierge cm left a message that we could change the next morning but the room was HA with a roll in shower. So we switched. I don’t think it had a tub. It was the closest room to the lounge.

Edit: I was looking at Touring Plans room finder, it shows one HA 1 bedroom will roll in shower and next to it, HA with tub with rails.

Interesting that of the 5 1BR on the club level, two are HA.

Yes, I see I did not designate that I was referring to Concierge studios. Since OP was talking about a studio that’s what I meant. There are 2 HA 1brs on the concierge level. One has a tub and the other a roll in shower. Both are savanah view.

(Which I see you found)
