I have been to disney more times than I can count....but I have NEVER gone with any meal plan....so we decided to jump in and book a package with free dinning.... My head is spinning with all the posibbilities... so far I have booked 3 adr's and I'm wiped........

we are a family of 5....
me who eats very lightly
hubby... skinny but can eat a horse
15 year old son who takes after his dad
12 year old daughterl who doesn't eat alot but loves to try things new ( booked at Morrocan restaurant with her in mind)
9year old daughter who lives on air and is NEVER hungary...

so my general plan is.....
breakfast in room with stuff we brought from home or use a snack credit

BIg meal between 2 and 4 ( adr)

Conter service or snackoption later in evening around 8

just seems daunting to plan when and what we are eating 3 months from now...
any suggestions ... ideas etc

I also booked an adr at prime time and Planet Hollywood......

Well what I always do is check out the park hours for the days I will be there and try and get a plan of where you will be each day. For us, we never do EMH and always avoid that park (we also do not get park hopper option) and then plan meals from there.

Character meals are fun for everyone, even my 16 y.o sister who is coming on this trip is excited about the character meals. They are all you can eat and either family style or buffet so everyone can kind of pick whatever they want to eat. Our favs are Crystal Palace(lunch or dinner), Chef Mickeys (dinner), and Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. We will be trying the ASkershus breakfast this trip for first time.

Another option as far as counter service if you have some light eaters in the group is share counter service meals to stretch the credits. For example, if you used 3 CS credits at breakfast (you and your teen daughter share, and the 9 year old get a few bites from every plate since she doesnt eat much or use a couple snack credits to fill everyone up) and then you could use the 2 remaining credits you didnt use that morning for a snack in the evening.

Good luck!

the PP. Try to determine your park days first. Since you've been numerous times you probably have a good idea how often you want to go to each park and choose a restaurant in or near the park you're at. Resort restaurants near the MK are pretty easy to hit but with the others it takes more time to visit a resort restaurant unless it's when you are park hopping.

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern, Kona and Grand Floridian Cafe are good choices. The Plaza is also don't good but some people avoid it while on the dining plan since it is a less expensive option.

Epcot - you already have Restaurant Marrakesh. If you are there other days look at Le Cellier (Probably hard to get three days out.), Rose and Crown, Biergarten or Tutto Italia.

DHS - you have 50s Prime Time. If you need another lunch then Sci Fi is a good option for burgers. The atmosphere is the key here. Stick with simple food.

Animal Kingdom - Yak and Yeti or if you don't mind buffest then Tusker House for lunch. Tusker House would fit those who can eat a lot and try new things since it's a buffet.

yep...I already picked a day for each park... but now u have me second guessing for a few of the days I picked the parks that were staying late with the 3 extra magic hours.... should I rethink it????

I'm going in 3 months ... not 3 days.... if I only had 3 days I think I would be loosing my mind by now:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm too overwhelmed just thinking about it. Making a few ADRs is enough for me! Good luck!

Dont stress! For me, making my ADRs is like extra vacation time! It gets me in the Disney mood.

If you have a printer available to you, go to www.allears.net and click on "dining" print out the menus of possible restaurants and give them to your kids. Let them decide where they might want to eat a few of the days.

Try to deicde quickly. ADRs opened up a while ago for free dining...restaurants book quickly.

Enjoy your trip!

Well that depends if you want to use EMH or not! We dont bother with it for a few reasons - the main one being we dont get the park hopper option so can only visit one park a day and prefer to pick the park that is likely to be less crowded any given day- the days with the EMH that park tends to be more crowded during regular park hours.
