Wow! I just found my was to Disboards last night and I've been having a blast roaming around. I've been lucky to have some great Disigns created for my boys' first trip this Sunday. (Thanks again!) Now I'm feeling way under prepared. T-shirts, backpacks, autograph books. I only have until Saturday night as we leave Sunday morning. What would you do? I would really love to do the autograph books, but it looks like something that should have been started months ago. Help! Any advice is much appreciated.

PS.....my husband calls me Clark Griswold when it comes to planning events. I want to make sure I'm ready!

Since you don't have a lot of time but want to do autograph books. Instead of trying to download pages for each and every character. Why don't you just download a page for each park that you will go to. Penny (Chaoscent), LJCollins and Natalie have generic cards for each park. Then you could make multiple copies of the generic cards and have the characters sign those.

Find the 4 images that you like and if you want to make them easily...save them as a jpeg. Download them onto a disk and take them to Wal-mart (or wherever you get pictures developed) and have them print a bunch of each card in 4x6 size. If you go in the morning they usually can get them done a lot quicker than an hour (at least at my Wal-Mart :-) Then while you are waiting you can grab some blank t-shirts, look and see if there are any cheap backpacks, get a photo album that you can slide the autograph cards in for each child and you will be well on your way to getting a lot of the things done you were wanting. On the way home stop by a Dollar Tree as they have a TON of disney things that you can add to the backpacks like figurines, activity/coloring books, crayons, pens, little frisbees...all with Disney characters. You could spend $10-20 and fill up the backpacks.

Here are a few links for the generic park cards:

Look at the ones that say "generic"

While you are grabbing the blank images. There are some cute covers that you can also get. Paste them into word and put a textbox over the image and add your child's name. Then you will have an autograph cover. Here is a link for how to add their names to the card in MS Word:

If you go again in the future...you can start planning a year in advance and make the individual cards for each character.

Remember that vacations are for enjoying. Whether you make everything possible on the Boards or only take what you have made to date...it will be a great vacation. It is about time spent with family not all the extra things.

1st things 1st, DONT PANIC!!!.
Decide what is the most important for you to have completed and start there. T-shirts and backpacks really don't take to long to make. I did about 15 t-shirts in just about 1hour and they turned out just fine. My kids still wear them to this day (we went in Aug) and they are holding up wonderfully.
So, just take a deep breath, relax and have fun doing it. Try to recruit you husband?! He might actually have fun with it too. He could cut the images out for you. That would help greatly.

Thanks so much! I'm so very excited and just want to make everything I see. I guess it's time to get realistic :)

A million thank you's for all of the links. This will help tremendously!!!!!!! I truly appreciate it.

Have a great day!

I got our autograph books printed on photo paper. You could do that at walmart and then put them into a photo album. Then just pull out the card you need to have autographed. Those require a sharpie though. Or someone else used a pencil case to put theirs in and took them out as needed.

For shirts they dont take that long once you have everything. We leave tuesday and I'm still waiting on our last set of shirts to arrive and will probably do them sunday night for tuesday.

I am not sure what you are talking about as far as Backpacks go, as we have little ones and will have a drawstring backpack we got at WDW last visit.

One thing you could do in place of autograph books too is an autograph pillow case. Instead of printing off tons of cards you could print off one DISign and iron it on a pillow case while doing your shirts.
