i know i have been MIA but I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis ~~ i am feeling overwhelmed, tired all the time, my heart rate is off and i have chest pains, cant stop crying, my hormones are out of control, i have gained weight (to the point i had to have my wedding rings cut off - that was the highlight of last week --- ugghhh) i am isolating myself, not doing things i enjoy, i dont have energy, feel so depressed, its hard to breath, i am dizzy, my muscles are sore and i feel like i have hit rock bottom. I continue to push my friends away and i am sure they are going to stop trying because i keep saying that i just dont feel good. Its amazing how one little gland like your thyroid can control so many things in your body. I feel like i am not the same person and "fun, carefree Jennifer" is missing ~~~ if anyone finds her please tell her to come home and that her family and friends miss her - especially me
thanks for listening
Jennifer

Oh, Jennifer, I am sorry you aren't feeling well, but at least now you know what you are dealing with and hopefully get back on the right track. :hug:

Jennifer that stinks!!! I'm so sorry :( Hope your doc can figure out how to help you soon :hug:

Jennifer -- First off {{{{{{:hug:}}}}}}

My sister was just diagnosed with this in the Fall -- a lot of what you said I have heard from her. It's hard to get a handle on it at the beginning and I know you are feeling awful. She has been to several doctors to get a look at the whole picture. Her general doctor diagnosed her with an auto-immune. Then she went to the specialist and got the official Hashimoto's diagnosis. (to be honest I can't remember what they have her doing) and then she went to another specialist for the day-to-day how-to-live-with-it stuff. She had food allergy tests done and metal tests done as well as a slew of others I am not remembering. She did end up with some food allergies (gluten, etc) and while it is a pain it does make her feel better to be eating the right foods. I guess when the thyroid is wacked out everything in the body functions at a different level. She also had metals in her system which she is getting treatment for and has just gone on some pig hormones.

I think what has really helped her is the day-to-day specialist -- they are a wellness center. While she is bummed she is at the level of needing the hormones it will hopefully make her feel better (she just started those). It is my understanding that if you are still feeling all those symptoms they may need to alter your medication. Make sure you talk to your doctor and get the answers you need. She is still going to the specialist but the wellness center will spend 30 minutes to an hour talking and looking at the whole picture.

Hopefully you have someone to talk to who has gone through this. I think that is invaluable. Maybe there is a support group near you? If you want any advice from my sis who is in the early stages just PM me. I have a friend who had a different auto immune disease and it really helped my sis to talk to her. She would be happy to "pay it forward"

Hang in there! Things will get more under control when the hormones calm down. I'll keep you in my prayers. :hug:

So sorry you are having such a hard time Jennifer....hope the doctors can get things figured out so you feel better soon!!

sending Hugs and prayers...we are here for you, so vent and scream at us if you need to!!

:goodvibes:hug::goodvibes:hug:

I have it. I was diagnosed in college. I'm on very high thyroidd hormones daily. Once the levels were in the right range for me, I felt like myself again. Hang in there And give it time. They can take a long time getting the hormones just right.

Hey Jen - you are not pushing these friends away!! We're here for you.
I am happy that a diagnosis has been made, but sad that it will take a while to get those meds adjusted. Keep typing away here, and you'll always have ears to listen. If you want to call sometime, pm me and i'll send along my number. :grouphug:

I am so sorry you are going through this. I pray that they will find the right medications/food changes so that you will be able to live a good life instead of dealing with this all the time.

Rebecca

Finding out what's wrong is half the battle Jen! Take care of yourself as much as you can until the meds kick in.
I would recommend some yoga and meditation too. It really helps the mind, which in turn helps the body.

I hope your friends stick with you. Remember your "friends in the box" are here for you too.

I've never heard of the illness before but for some reason gluten popped into my head. I know a lot of people with various illnesses that have cut gluten out of their diets and it's helped tremendously.

Hang in there!!

:hug: You poor thing! its awful feeling tired and sad, especially when you have to keep up with life and family as well:grouphug: Hopefully things will stabilise, but don't be afraid to talk t the experts if you feel its not working (or you feel worse) - these tthings do take a certain amount of trial and error as everyone processes things differently.:flower3:

You poor thing! Remember that your disfriends are here for you!
S :)

So sorry you are going through this. Looks like some folks, above, have good advice and I really hope it helps. Hugs and Pixie Dust :grouphug:

Sending lots of hugs, prayers, & pixie dust your way Jennifer!!!:hug: So sorry you're going though this!!

Hope you are working with your doctors to get the thyroid levels back in alignment! Hang in there! Vent when you need to!

:hug:
