Feeling like a yo-yo

One thing that has been bothering me as I read people talking about SSR is how they continually complain about the lack of a sit down restaurant on the site. If, and when, they do build a sit down, great...but come on people, Downtown D is a 5-10 minute walk or boat ride and they have more than one place to eat there! If they built a few sit downs at SSR, I know I would not use them and I doubt enough other people would to make them worth while (unless they make it a "destination" type thing like a charachter meal, which isn't going to happen). Just my .02 cents worth.

Well, if you have already delayed 6 years, I say GO FOR IT! You have even broken our record of wait time. We first thougt about it in 1992 and didn't purchase until 1997! Our only regret is that we have kidked ourselves over and over for not doing it back in 1992! :thumbsup2

My guide told me that the current deal with 05 points and Sept. use year at 90.00 a point expires April 1. I would need to put a deposit down to lock in the deal before that time. We are traveling down to Florida in April and I could finish the paperwork then.

DVC can be a tough decision for some of us. It took us 3 years from when we 1st looked at the models when the sales office was at BWV. Then we looked again in the spring of 2002 and about a month after that we actually laid down the cash.

I personally don't have a single regret about waiting. Yes, the prices went up, but when the decision was made we had really taken the time to think it through. There was no buyers remorse and hasn't been. Nor have we wanted to buy more points and so far we haven't lost any points (we have 300) and we go two or three times a year.

So, good luck with your decision.

Well. Yours is the deal I need!

I think we have determined here on the board that I only had 3 days from my departure date to decide in order to get that deal because I was there and took the tour.
:(

I feel like I'm being punished for taking that darned tour.

I think I have decided I'll probably but not today (& I mean TO-day!) because I don't have the full payment in my hands at the moment and will very soon. However, I just don't want to take on debt that I don't have to. I may lose out on something extra but maybe I'll get lucky and some deal will be as sweet as this one sounded for us. Maybe there won't be a deal and I'll have to decide to do it with or without one but I think the peace of mind of paying for it will be better for me in the end.

Darn yo-yo. Darn tour.

Thanks to everyone for your help and advice. You have no idea how you have helped me get through this decision process.

Now, maybe if I don't yo-yo agin before the day is over (d-day, ya know!) I will get some much needed sleep tonight!

I glad you came to a decision based on your specific circumstances. My suggestion is to start saving up the money earmarked for DVC. Stick it in an interest bearing account like INGdirect (3.8%/4.75% until 4/16/06), HSBCdirect (4.8% until 4/30/06) or Emigrantdirect (4.25%). You'd be surprised at how fast the money will grow if you are motivated enough.

While DVC is certainly enjoyable. It's even better if you can own it without feeling the additional financial burden.

Good luck.

Good luck on your decision, hope to Welcome you Home soon.
