Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

Great photos :) I think the Maharajah trail was one of my favorite things at the Animal Kingdom! I loved the animals there and they were pretty active when I saw them.

Yes, I do all the animal trails at AK. I just always seem to forget the Oasis one is there.

Nice photo of you and Erich. My family didn't care for the Nemo show either, and I for some reason didn't even care to give it a go.

That tiger was sticking his tounge out at you! :rotfl:

Love the tiger pictures. I think the bat in the last picture was smiling at you. :thumbsup2

I  Finding Nemo the Musical!
For some reason I've never done the Maharajah Jungle Trek! I don't even know why because I LOVE LOVE LOVE tigers! I'm a cat person, big or small hahaha.
That picture with the tiger with its tongue out is hilarious. The animals look like they must have been hot though! Aww :(

Yeah, it was stupid hot out, 95 and then factor in the humidity, it felt like it was 100+ out that day.

Yeah, I love it too and it is always a treat if you are there while they are active and not just lying around.

 Our cat Amber stick her tongue out at us all the time, it is adorable.

Maybe an evil smile. It knew about its cousin up in Ontario that terrorize me at work.

It seriously feels like it's taken me forever to catch up on the DIS since I got back from our trip. *whew*

Love that you guys went to Medieval Times. I've lived in Chicagoland my whole life, we happen to have one, and yet I've never been. :confused3 Plus, having a 50% off coupon was definitely a nice perk.

Love all of the AK pictures. I like wandering around AK, but somehow it seems like I never actually get enough time to.

Yes, our trip to Medieval Times never would have happened without that coupon. We are not crazy enough to pay full price!

That is a bonus of a two week vacation, you have more than enough time to do everything you want. In the past AK always seemed to get the shaft with only one visit per trip while all the other parks got at least two days each. This year we showed AK a little more love.

I love how close the tiger came to you! It always seems like we catch the tigers sleeping far away somewhere.

Typhoon Lagoon looks like it was a lot of fun. That's a great place for a rest day!

Loved the pix of the animals !!I have done both trails and really like them !!As for Nemo I am with the boys !!Judy however saw it for the first time in august and LOVED it even said better than Lion King !!!:scared1:Carol and I say LION KING all the way!!!!:banana:

Nemo better than Lion King? I wouldn't go that far but I have changed my tune about Nemo. First time I saw it I didn't like it but it has grown on me and now I don't mind stopping to see it if time allows.

May 20th continued

We were practically melting by the time we finished admiring the tigers so we went in search of a cart that sold slushies. Alek and Erich had remembered seeing one on the path that heads towards Africa. Unfortunately once we found the stand the slushie machine was out of service from overuse. :guilty:

We did however run into a photopass photographer!

The photopass photographer and the boys had a little photo shoot to commemorate their becoming "Conservation Heroes".

After the photo shoot we continued our search for a refreshing slushie beverage while starting to make our way out of the park. The heat was ridiculous and Mom was really starting to feel it.

We never did find our slushies so instead we settled for ice cream floats. We ordered vanilla ice cream with orange pop floats. Delicious! The CM's working the stand seemed surprised by our choice of float, must not get that ice cream and pop combo very often.

It was delicious! Yum yum yum!

I made the boys stop for one more photopass photographer on the way out of the park. I justified it by saying that the sun and lighting on the tree would be totally different than earlier that morning.

It was so hot out that we took the tram out to the car. We very rarely take the tram at any of the parks but that is just how hot it was, we just did not want to walk one step further than we had to with the oppressive sun beating down on us.

Once back at the hotel the natural thing to do was to head to the pool. It was wonderful. Nothing like hanging out in the pool on a hot steamy summer day.

They had music and pool games at the main pool that day, this went on until about 5pm. The games looked like fun, they even had a tug of war in the pool. :thumbsup2

We spent a couple hours at the pool then went back to the room where we once again watched the Harry Potter marathon. Alek, Erich and Mom made their dinner in the room. I decided to head down to the main building to grab my dinner.

IMG_3453.jpg

First I browsed Cafe Rix

IMG_3454.jpg

I ended up going over to Pepper Market and ordering a personal pizza.

IMG_3455.jpg

I got it in a to go box so I could take it back to the room.

On the walk back I saw this cute little turtle swimming in the water.

That night we also tried another one of the Harry Potter treats that I had bought at Universal. That night it was Treacle Fudge.

It was just White Chocolate with a few raisins scattered throughout, nothing special.

And that concludes our day. Only five more days of vacation left including Star Wars Weekends!

I'm with you.. that combination of ice cream and soda is delicious. I wonder why the cm thought it was "weird". They sell ice cream bars that taste like that.

This is me pressing the "like" button. I agree completely. And honestly, that's what I would have ordered for a float. DH, too! :thumbsup2

I think it is probably just not a common choice. Most people probably just get the "regular" coke or root beer float option.

A delicious ice cream float and a swim in the pool sound like the perfect ways to cool off after a super hot day at AK.

I can't believe there are only 5 days left!

Mmm... that float looks really good! I'm not a fan of root beer so I've never really been into floats, but I might have to try one with orange soda!

That three cabelleros topiary is too cute. :) I'm looking forward to reading about SWW!

I'm with you, Lessa, I do NOT like bats at all. I think they are evil and I refuse to go in the house where they are located. :scared1:

Sorry the boys did not like "Finding Nemo." It is a new favorite of mine.

Love the tiger and bird pictures.

Nice photopass pictures...and I believe the sun was different at that time of day. ;)

More beautiful shots of CSR -- you are making me homesick.

And the turtle is too darn cute.

That's curious that the CM would think that combination was weird. I'm sure it tasted like an orange dreamsicle. At least, that's how it tastes in my head. :lmao:

Wow, still 5 days left!? I haven't taken a two week vacation in forever, so that always sounds like a lot to me, even though in comparison to two weeks, it's not.

Mmm, your orange/vanilla ice cream float sounds great. Was it from a cart type place?

I love your tigers pictures. They are never moving when we see them:confused3 Sometimes I wonder if they are even real:laughing:
