Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

Wow, your video of the waitstaff singing "O Canada" was awful and hilarious at the same time. I can understand why you were put off, singing of a national anthem should be serious, and should not have extra additional a la Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (like a light bulb).

I completely agree! I wonder who came up with the "brilliant" idea to slaughter our anthem like that? :sad2:

Glad your meal was good! I've never done lunch there, only dinner, but maybe lunch would be a better choice with kids in tow. I'll have to give that some thought for our next trip (which might be as early as April!)

:thumbsup2

Not ALL Lotso Bears are evil, I'm sure. The one they are featuring at WDW is probably one of the non-evil variety! :rotfl:

:rotfl:

And your le Cellier pics are making me drool. We also loved that meal on our trip. And the anthem was odd!!! Hahaha! You crazy Canadians!:lmao:

I am guessing pencil crayons???

:thumbsup2 Although I will always call them coloured pencils. I guess that is just the American in me.

And this is????

Poutine is french fries covered in gravy and cheese curds. A very popular snack up here, at least in Eastern Canada. Personally I think it is disgusting so I guess I fail to be authentically Canadian in yet another way.:sad2:

I'm embarrassed by that rendition too!

Wasn't it just awful? I cringed!

Love the test for the waiter. Tell the bros I'm stealing it for next time I eat there. I know the answer since I'm authentically Canadian. :thumbsup2 Lessa do you now have to reprove yourself to your brothers?

I don't have to prove anything to them! :snooty:  I am proud to be half American! I am actually surprised that they call them pencil crayons since they spent just as much of their childhood in the States as I did. :confused3

Your steak looks delish !I would sub the potatoes for the rissoto also!!! The bread stix were awesome the time I ate there !!I also agree with the soup, it is good but not all it's raved to be !!

I loved those potatoes, so yummy!

Reading all of those pixar fun facts was SO interesting to me!! Thank you so much for posting them! I didn't realize that Sid was the garbage kid in Toy Story 3 either!! I may have noticed but it didn't click in my head. SO COOL!

:thumbsup2

And the guy from the short film operating on Woody... I noticed that one!! :cool1: I love how they incorporate all of the toys and pizza planet fan and things in each of the movies. So cute!

It is neat how those things are incorporated in all the movies. Too bad I never pay enough attention to notice those little details!

Mmm le cellier looked DELICIOUS. ugh i'm so hungry but i need to refrain from a midnight snack right now because i ate an ice cream sundae at work  (that's what happens when you eat at an ice cream place... :rotfl:)

I know how that is, both of my high school jobs were at ice cream stores. The first was at an Italian bakery/ice cream store, so dangerous! The second was at a Dairy Queen, also very dangerous!

Le Cellier looks so good. We went there in 2010 but I had a cold and couldn't taste very well that day.We will have to give it another try.

Ugh, colds are nasty things, especially when on vacation! I hope you get to try it again when your taste buds are in working order! ;)

Personally I think it's silly how they sing our national anthem to open the restaurant. I would think it would make people feel awkward. They don't sing the US national anthem to open the parks :confused3 but I know it's a good way to represent our country....

As far as I can remember, they have sang the anthem that way. I'm not sure if it's because they don't have back up music so they do those funny interludes to make it interesting or what. I'd say they're pretty genuine Canadian though. I mean all the servers and people working in the stores come from Canada. Only thing they could do better is the stuff they sell in the store. Last time I was there they had stuff from fruit & passion and passion flakes and ah caramels. Yeah thats really Canadian....

It is a bit silly. I know if I were a server I would HATE having to sing it every day.

Hmmm, the additions make it so ridiculous and cringe-worthy! I seriously wonder who thought it would be a good idea to sing the anthem let alone make those ridiculous additions?

 Very true about the merch!

According to Alek and Erich's test I do not qualify as a genuine Canadian since I say coloured pencils instead of pencil crayons so simply coming from Canada does not make one a genuine Canadian in their books. ;) Not to mention I don't like poutine, another strike against me!

The food at Le Cellier looks delicious. I've heard so many good things and this just proves it. I think I'm in need of a second lunch  Everything looks delicious especially the soup and Mushroom Filet Mignon. :goodvibes I really need to book an ADR there, desperately ::yes:: And I can't believe what the CMs did to your National Anthem. I'm sure I've heard it a few times (I'm part Canadian (not sure of percentage)) and I don't remember there ever being little add-ins, that's NEVER a way to sing the National Anthem :sad2: At least the place itself made up for it for you four.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I think I'm in need of a second lunch

 Are you part hobbit? ;)

 Yeah, it was pretty mortifying hearing it sung that way.

Lessa, I am so glad you enjoyed LeCellier. It is our favorite restaurant of all times. I love the soup and always get the filet and cream cheese mashed potatos -- yummy!

Your picture sin Canada are beautiful.

It's seems my list of favoured WDW restaurants is growing every year. It is becoming harder and harder to choose ADR's as the list grows as there are so many new places I want to try and so many yummy places that I want to return to!

Your picture sin Canada are beautiful.

Thank You! I love what they did with the Canada pavilion and the places it represents are even more beautiful!

The Pixar stuff looks so cool. Did you notice if Lotso really smelled like strawberries? I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I'm sure the Lotso in the theme parks is a nice Lotso, not the one who turned mean after being replaced.

Le Cellier always looks so good. I can't wait to try it again. That version of O Canada is very odd. :confused3

I finally caught up!!! I can't believe I was so far behind! :sad2:

I love your Pixar update!!! Most of the Pixar movies are my son's favorite Disney movies!!! He looooves Ratatouille and Monsters the most, but Nemo has been a favorite since he was around 6 months old! :thumbsup2

We've only seen Sulley, Lightning McQueen and Mater out of all the Pixar characters. But we hope to see Remy this year at Les Chefs de France!!! I can't wait!!!

Seeing your pictures & reading about your experience at Le Cellier is really, really making me regret cancelling my ADR there for September! :sad1:

Thanks for making the poster pictures so big that we could read them!!! I really enjoyed learning the little facts I didn't know before!!!

Hi Lessa,
I'm all caught up again after being in Disney and getting settled back in. I love all your amazing pictures from F&G!!! Also enjoyed your Le Cellier update. I had the exact same lunch last week, even substituted the cream cheese mashed potatoes. Your pics are making me want to go back! I missed the staff singing as we had and ADR for 1 pm.

Lessa I soo agree about which restaurant to choose !! For this trip I let them basically pick !! The new one for all of us is O'Hanas, and that was my pick !! Judy wan ted Planet Hollywood and WCC. Kyle picked Teppon Edo, the girls CRT and everyone wanted Chef Mickey. When I do my solo trips I always choose Raglan Road !! My Free trips are picked mainly by me with Carol choosing Raglan Road and Teppon Edo each time !!

Just found your TR, subbing and now to settle in and start from the beginning:thumbsup2

Welcome!

Nope, didn't smell strawberries with this Lotso either. Like I posted on your report, maybe my nose is broken?

I love your Pixar update!!! Most of the Pixar movies are my son's favorite Disney movies!!! He looooves Ratatouille and Monsters the most, but Nemo has been a favorite since he was around 6 months old! :thumbsup2

He has good taste, those are some of my favourites as well! I think Alek and Erich saw Nemo in the theatres 3 or 4 times. :rotfl:

We've only seen Sulley, Lightning McQueen and Mater out of all the Pixar characters. But we hope to see Remy this year at Les Chefs de France!!! I can't wait!!!

The little Remy they have at Chefs is so cute!

Seeing your pictures & reading about your experience at Le Cellier is really, really making me regret cancelling my ADR there for September! :sad1:

That is how I felt after we finally ate there I remembered all the ADR's for Le Cellier that I had canceled on previous trips.

Thanks for making the poster pictures so big that we could read them!!! I really enjoyed learning the little facts I didn't know before!!!

You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed reading them. :goodvibes

 Too funny that we had identical lunches. You are fortunate that you missed the singing. ;)

I don't give my family that much freedom with the reservations. I pick out the places that I think we should eat at and then I give them the list of my choices and let them make a decision based off that. Luckily they are pretty much happy to do whatever I want as they know that when it comes to vacation planning LESSA KNOWS BEST!

May 15th continued

Full and satisfied after our amazing lunch at Le Cellier we explored the Canada pavilion. Well, we didn't really explore it, we just went into the gift shop. Alek and Erich had been talking about the Canada trivia in the store so we went up so I could try my hand at it and prove my status as a true Canadian after it was called into question at lunch. =p Luckily, I was able to restore my honour by answering most of the trivia questions correctly! Woohoo! The question I got wrong? What is the official sport of Canada? I answered hockey naturally but I was wrong! It is curling! What the heck?

We briefly looked around the gift shop at all the "Canadian" merchandise. The most Canadian thing I saw in the store was the display of hockey t-shirts for Leafs fans and Canadiens fans. Of course, this once again betrays how un-Canadian I am, I don't watch hockey! Well, that is not entirely true, I watch Olympic hockey but that is about it. I don't live and breathe hockey like "true" Canadians. I do not have a team that I support. Again, I blame my American upbringing and a "negligent" father who didn't really pay attention to hockey until a few years ago when he retired, now it is almost all he talks about! So now when people around me start to talk hockey I just smile and nod as though I know who or what they are talking about. =p

We briefly considered going to see the Canada movie(I love the song during the Canada movie) which is my second favourite movie in World Showcase after China but we considered the fact that it was Pixar Weekend and if we saw the movie we might be missing a unique character opportunity! So we passed on the movie and made our way over to France.

You will remember from the day before when we were in Epcot that we had been in line to see Remy and Emile but that big storm came blowing in ruining our plans. Well this was our last chance to see them as it was the final day of Pixar Weekend.

We jumped in line and we were pretty close to the front. We still had 20 or so minutes until they were due to arrive.

While standing in line we saw these guys heading off for a break.

IMG_1546.jpg

Slim, Flik and Atta! We didn't really care about Flik, you see him all the time at Animal Kingdom, Atta is a little bit rarer but the true rare gem in this group was Slim! Alek and Erich were very excited and we were hopeful that he would be coming back out.

While standing in line discussing characters I saw these girls at the front of the line dressed in kimonos. I just love kimonos, they are so pretty and elegant. I wish I could wear one without looking ridiculous!

IMG_1548.jpg

Since we still had lots of time to kill before the rats were due to make their appearance I went off in a search for a Pixar Weekend guide. Alek and Erich had not picked one up when they arrived at the park and Mom had passed our copy off to the family we had been chatting with while in line at Character Connection. I darted into all the stores thinking that they would have some on the counters where they keep the times guide and park map but no such luck. It was during this search that Diane, pinkxray on the Dis, spotted me. I wish you had stopped me to say hello! You could have joined us for Pixar fun!

Even though I was unsuccessful in locating a Pixar Weekend guide I took the opportunity to snap some photos while wandering around the pavilion during my hunt.

Here come the stars of the hour!

IMG_1562.jpg

Now, before we get to the character fun I have to tell you a story about a guy who had been waiting in line just in front of us. He looked to be in his 30's and seemed to be there with his extended family. Well this fully-grown man was throwing a hissy fit in front of the adults and children he was with because Remy and Emile do not do autographs. This went on for pretty much the whole time we were in line, I'm not kidding, for about 20 or so minutes this is what we got to listen to, I think there was even a foot stomp or two, "Wah, it is SO unfair! This is the only time they come out and they won't do autographs! Wah! Boo hoo! Totally unfair! How can they do this to me?! My life is over!", pause, repeat. Seriously dude? Get over it! It is a stinking autograph! I was amazed at the display he was providing. Thank goodness we were all towards the front of the line and did not have to listen to him for long once the characters showed up.

We had a GREAT time with Remy and Emile. I think Emile is just too adorable! I never thought that I would be happy to see a rat in WDW again after the infamous rat incident in the Magic Kingdom back in 2008 when one crawled up my leg! I will make an exception for Remy and Emile. lol

First Mom went up and got her photo with them.

IMG_1563.jpg

IMG_1564.jpg

IMG_1565.jpg

Next up were Alek and Erich. Erich told Emile not to worry and that he too will eat pretty much anything. Remy thought this was hilarious and bent over laughing. They then had to pat Erich's stomach and compare him to Emile, he wasn't quite as large. lol

IMG_1566.jpg

IMG_1567.jpg

IMG_1568.jpg

Then finally it was my turn.

IMG_1569.jpg

So, after four years, Alek and Erich finally got their picture with Remy and Mom and I no longer need to feel guilty. lol
