Feeling guilty...can you help???

Hi there...my husband and I are planning a 7 day cruise for January 2004. We have sailed on the Disney Wonder 4 times and are hooked!! We are ready for a 7 night adventure, but with one big dilemma...which ship to choose. We love to cruise out of Port Canaveral because we like to extend our vacation after the cruise at WDW. We found out that Carinval has a new ship, the Glory as well as RCCL, the Mariner, all with identical itineraries. Of course we have heard nothing but wonderful things about the Magic.

My dilemma, DH wants to try a "bigger" ship. He feels that there would be more to do for adults as we do not have any children. I told him that the Magic would have plenty to keep us busy. He saw the "rock climbing wall and putt putt course " on RCCL and he is already "sold"! Me, I feel guilty not sticking with the Disney Magic!! Has anyone heard any information about either of these two ships?? Any opinions would be helpful!! My biggest regret would be missing Castaway Cay!!! I almost feel like I would be betraying my favorite Mouse

In addition to all of our cruises on Disney, we have sailed on RCCL 4 times, including one of the mega-ships (Voyager). The rock climbing was was fun, and the ice show was fabulous. We also did the mini-golf, which was interesting to do on a moving ship. We also did Radiance to Alaska. But we think the Magic has more for adults to do because RCCL seems to think that if they don't schedule a lot of activities during the day, you will spend money gambling. On the Magic, they have the captain's talks, the behind the scenes presentations, art of entertaining, etc. RCCL had a little of that, but not much. They also do not have an adults only pool, and on Voyager the kids were running crazy in the workout room. They did have adult activities at night, similar to what they have on Disney. I think you will have a good time either way, but of course after 29 Disney cruises vs. 4 on RCCL, I'm sure you can guess my preference.

Dear Barb,

You are so sweet to answer so quickly...as I am writing I am printing your response to tape to the bathroom mirror so that when Ben wakes up he can see that a true Disney Veteran sees things the way I do!! I tried to tell him that Disney's service is impeccable and that we would not have to fight 3000+ guests to have an enjoyable experience!! Thanks so much for your imput..I hope this wins him over..wish me luck Lisa

The voyager class ships do have an adult only pool- we were in it a year ago-very nice area with Roman statues (yes, in the buff) and we never saw kids in there. The Spa area has a fab adult only big jetted hot tub with some kind of soothing aroma-herb thing that was HEAVEN and doesn't cost any more to use this part of the spa. It was always empty especially in the AM. Never saw kids there either and I was there a lot. I've heard that Disney is better about keeping kids away from adult areas though...I know this is a Dis board but we really loved the Voyager and never ran out of activities. All were first class equipment down to the loaner ice skates and in-line skates. They had organized volleyball and basketball games, if you are into sports this ship is great!

I'd love to try another ship but am so afraid that I would be disappointed because I'd always be comparing it to Disney then regret my choice.

Ahhh, to be a child again and just not worry so much about the small stuff!
