Feeling funny as adults only going to 1900 Park Fare or Chefs Mickey.

My mid-70s aunt and uncle just sent me pictures of their first visit to Chef Mickey's yesterday. They had a blast.

It's Disney folks ... EVERYBODY is a kid.

- GO
- Disney is for all ages, all people, not just kids
- Majority of my trips last 5-6 years I see way more adults than children
- A couple weeks ago all week we kept saying how few children were at Disney
- We are all adults and I wouldn't hesitate to do above
- Actually in October all adults we went to 1900 Park Fare, way more adults than kids
- Do not hesitate at all, characters LOVE adults (am sure a nice break from kids :tilt:)
- Although CM is a chaotic/child "meal"

PS My folks friends had their 50th Wedding Anniversary Party at 1900 and my Mom said it was awesome. So a huge table full of old adults.

My soon to be 21 year old daughter and I are going to many character meals on our next trip as we do every trip. Go and have fun!

Thanks everyone. I'm convinced. We are going to both restaurants.

Good choice. You can eat without worrying about what anyone else will think.

I've been to CRT multiple times as a solo adult male, which might raise eyebrows, but it never even crosses my mind. (And has led to some great fun, such as the time when Mary Poppins and Belle got into a mock fight over which one got to take me home.)

I ate at Chef Mickey's as an all-adult party and it was totally fine. We were seated off to the side, next to a window and right next to another all-adult party. I think the quality of the food is fine (not great, not terrible) but it's the giant selection that makes it fun!

Definately go and enjoy! OMG I LOVE character meals and most of the time I travel solo.
Occasionally my DS 21 travels with me, and he loves them too! (His fave is Tusker House Breakfast)
For my birthday trip March 8-14 (I go every year for my birthday)
I'm having lunch on my birthday at CRT...all decked out like a Princess with a tiara :)
I also have ADR's for 3 other character meals.

2 yrs ago I dined at 1900 PF for dinner...again solo.
Had a blast! Anastasia sat down at the table with me for a few minutes. It was SO fun.

Go and have a great time! If nothing else, just take comfort in the fact that you'll never see any of those people again :)

I would like to experience every restaurant at Disney World sooner or later. With that said I'm feeling a little ridiculous going to these two places. Should I skip them?

Have any adults only groups gone to these places recently?

My husband and I did 1900 breakfast and dinner in August and I had the same doubts but it was amazing! Especially the dinner. The evil stepmother and step sisters are hilarious!! We are going again. We didn't feel uncomfortable at all!

My daughter and I are going to CRT next month. She is 26. We are both going to request the plastic wands they give out to the kids. She really wants that wand - because her younger sister (21 years old) and I got them when we went in December. We feel no shame.

We are doing an adults only trip in may and are going to cape may for the character breakfast one morning. Why not? It's Disney and part of Disney is characters!

Adult groups go to all the kid restaurants ALL THE TIME. The Disney parks are where you can act like a kid (albeit a well-behaved kid) until you die and go to any meal you want. Kids go to the fancy restaurants, adults go to the character meals, and everyone is treated like they are supposed to be there. And for what Disney charges, they ought to. So put on your ears, grab a Dole whip and have a blast!!!!!

We have been to so many characters meal before having kids and would do exactly the same again!

Out of the two, I would go for 1900 Park Fare Dinner, where you'll have great interaction with face characters :)

I've done 1900 Park Fare, Tusker House, Cinderella's Royal Table, Star Wars, and Crystal Palace. There have always been solos, grown families and couples. Never felt awkward. Though I did see a couple that didn't look like they knew what they got themselves into at CP. That was worth the 40 dollar breakfast right there.

I have only seen one example where an adult should have felt funny. We (me and my adult daughter) waited to see Anna and Elsa. There was a British guy a few people ahead of us. He had the photopass people film videos on his phone of the princesses saying how awesome he was and how handsome he was and how any girl would love to be with him. He then hugged them way too much and kept trying to go in for kisses until the character wranglers stopped him. I know what he is going to be doing while watching those videos at home. ACK!

Don't cross any of those lines and you will be fine.

And I would have loved to have seen the couple at CP. Those are the magical memories from every trip.

As a solo AND with my all-adult family have done tons of character meals - Crystal Palace, Cape May Cafe, 'Ohana, Tusker House, and 1900 Park Fare - and have had a blast at all of them!

Go for it and have fun! You do you and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. The CMs and characters will be totally cool with it!

Oh my gosh, don't feel bad! You will LOVE it, and will certainly NOT be the lone adult-only table.
That having been said--we have had great experiences at often-panned restaurants--CM is off our list after years of bad meals. It breaks our heart...
I'd do breakfast and dinner at Park Fare! After you have the strawberry soup, you will want to return. They have it at both meals with different characters.
Crystal Palace is always good, so I'd go there before CM.

Don't feel funny!! I am doing 1900 Park Fare when I go Solo for my 40th in October!!

Its guys like that that make it hard for me to have fun at Disney World without feeling self-conscious. Though it never occurred to me that stuff like that happened until after my first Princess meet and greet. When I was reading former CM horror stories.

Don't let idiots make you feel self-conscious unless you were planning to cross a line. As long as you are respectful no character is going to have a problem with you. Meet them and enjoy the experience.
