Feeling annoyed with Disney right now

As for late August being busier than early August -- that's not what I've heard, although I haven't been in DL that time of year. Supposedly the local schools go back on the 20th and the crowds die down somewhat during the week. RideMax shows a big drop on wait times on the 20th. We'll just have to see ... I already have my airline tickets, so we get what we get! We've always gone in September before but I just can't take the kids out of school this year as they're older and their school docks their grades 40% for unexcused absences!

NO!!! Ignoring school schedules (some don't go back until after Labor Day), the SoCal APs are blocked for a good part of the summer and this is when they are allowed to come back. If they skipped the mad rush of Carsland opening, this will be their first chance to see the new stuff and you better believe they will be there.

Bands at the Paradies Pier Pizza place

I am sure that I have missed some and there will definitely be additional entertainment on different days of the week; however, the total number of shows will be about the same every day.

You might still be able to find some online from authorized ticket resellers or at a Grocery Store, but you won't be able to get them through Disney.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but just wanted to let you know that CityPASS holders receive a credit of $214 for ages 10+ and $198 for ages 3-9 towards an upgrade to a ticket of higher value. Hope that helps!

Southern California has over 20 million residents, and there are over 100 different school districts in just Orange and Los Angeles Counties. There are no "local schools" to count on with dates- some will start as early as the first or second week in August, others not until after Labor Day. Don't count on school calendars to plan days. I would focus more on days that APs are blocked out. But no matter what, with the opening of Carsland, this is going to be a massively busy summer. Lots of folks (tourists as well as Californians) have put off trips till this summer when Carsland was finished.

ITA about school schedules. There are far too many different districts to try and work around local schedules. Besides which, I swear crowds can swell just as much when neighboring states have vacations en-mass; Utah anyone?

Don't forget to add to the above local media outlets giving away family 4 packs to Cars Land umpteen times a day. I swear I'm sooo tired of those contests! Every time they announce it's time for another give away I cringe at the thought of the crowds.
