Feeling a little sad...

A year ago at this very minute I was enjoying the beautiful Candlelight Processional at Epcot. After the show we went to have dinner at the Rose and Crown, where we got a table with a perfect view of Illuminations. It was a great evening.

We've been to WDW a bunch of times since buying DVC and that trip last Christmas was probably the most memorable. The weather was beautiful. Warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights. It was the kind of weather that makes you want to move around and do things to keep warm instead of sitting around sweltering in the heat, like it is when we usually go in the summer. The decorations were phenomenal! Better than I could have imagined. And we were so impressed with BCV and thrilled that we owned a little piece of it.

Today its cold in Philly. DH and I just got back from shopping the after-Christmas sales at the mall, where it was crowded and annoying beyond belief. I can't help thinking back to last year when we had such a great time in WDW. I'm sad that I'm not there this year. My only consolation is that we're going back next Christmas. I can't wait!

Hi Allison,

We'll be there 12/25-12/30, staying at BWV, hopefully with a Boardwalk view. Though I'll be happy just to be there!

Jessica,

We were also at the CP last year on 12/26. We decided not to go at Christmas time for 2002, but then changed our minds. We surprised our children and left on 12/25. They thought we were going to Hilton Head. We were also there this year on my birthday 12/9 for the CP for the sixth straight year. Almost did not make it this year, but am so glad we were able to change our dates and go. For my family it is now a tradition to go to the Candlelight Processional. It just doesn't seem like Christmas without it.

Its so great that you got to go after all! We have enough points to go every summer, but only every other Christmas. I teach, so I'm a slave of the school schedule. Not complaining, or anything, but Christmastime is way too many points to go every year. I can console myself by saying that by going only every other year, Christmas at WDW will seem "new" each and every time we go...

Jessica,
I teach too! What do you teach? Because it was my birthday, I took three days off. I have been teaching a long time, so my district is pretty understanding. I agree about the points between Christmas and New Years. Last year we were able to get a special at Carribean Beach for $89 a night if we checked in by 12/25 so we stayed there for three nights. Not DVC, but at least Disney. We live about six to seven hours from Orlando so we are able to take quick trips. Next year we will leave as soon as school is out and return before 12/25. My District's tenative schedule is already out for next year so we can plan.

We are going in April of 2004 and I have to call first thing Monday morning to book for next Holiday time...12/19-12/24

I can't wait!

Hi Becky,

I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist so I'm a "speech teacher". At least that's what everyone calls me! I work in two elementary schools in suburban Philadelphia.

You're lucky that you can take days off like that. I love our schedule and only working 10 months and all, but I wish we had just a few vacation days that we could plan on our own so I could go down to WDW during the slower (and cooler!) months.

DJGifford,

To book for next x-mas, you need to wait one more month. Remember it's 11 months. Jan 24th is when you need to call.

Edward
