true, coming from california we just have a 20 min drive then an hour flight to san fran then a 5 hour flight to honolulu and we have very young ones so its plenty to do for them just being in the pools and ocean

Direct flight, 5.5ish hours each way. Pre-teen and teen than can chill out on their iPads/laptop for the whole flight.

Not much different than flying to Orlando except we have less stress leading up to it with dining reservations and lighting lanes.

I never get home and feel like I need to rest after the vacation after Hawaii…. I just feel very chill….

I think one of the main differences is that your flight is half the length and half the cost as mine.

Getting to Aulani for me is a two hour drive to a parking garage in Framingham followed by a 45 minute shuttle in Boston traffic followed by two rooms at the Hilton Logan Airport followed by an 8am flight that last 11 hours, and then doing it all in reverse to get home.

Coming from the East Coast, there's a lot more pressure for a Hawaii trip to be worth the hassle. I absolutely love relaxation-heavy trips but we can get those in Florida or on cruises much easier than what it takes to get to Hawaii. When we go to Hawaii, we want to load up on Hawaii-specific things that we can ONLY do there. We can do pool and beach any place.

Off topic. I assume you use Logan Express in Framingham. We use Logan Express Braintree, and we are amazed at how packed the Framingham buses are at Logan, as well as the constant alerts about limited parking in Framingham. Massport should add another location in the Springfield/Worcester area to alleviate Framingham.
