I'm pretty comfortable with my PS selections, but I always appreciate feedback from more seasoned veterans! Our family includes myself, hubby, two kids- 5 and 20 months, and my parents, and hubby's mom. We will be there for 9 nights and it won't always be all of us for the meals. I have already secured Hoop Dee Doo and can start calling for the others on 10/30.

Thurs night- celebrate arrival at Chef Mickey's (we are staying at the CR)
Fri- lunch at CRT; dinner- counter at Columbia Harbor House/Pecos Bills or Cosmic Ray's; basically whatever we are closest to when we're hungry
Sat- lunch- Sunshine Food Fair; dinner- Rose and Crown with the hopes of getting a patio seat for Illuminations (Aiming for a 7:30 PS)
Sun- lunch at either flame tree BBQ or Tusker House; dinner just me and hubby at Shula's
Mon- probably McDonalds at DD for the kids (lunch); Hoop Dee Doo for dinner
Tues- 50's Prime Time cafe for lunch; (?) for dinner although 5 year old will vote for Pizza Planet for sure. At any rate, we will most likely do counter service
Wed- Typhoon lagoon counter service for L; Ohana's for dinner
Thurs- Up for grabs- probably an MK day
Friday- up for grabs- probably a park hopper day; maybe a date night for me and DH again at Narcoosee's or California Grill
Sat- departure day- want to go to Chef Mickey's for one last magical experience

Basically we are bringing handy breakfast food to eat in our room or on the go, and I am budgeting one nicer meal per day and one counter service per day. Any thoughts for Thurs and Friday?

Thanks!!!

With a 5 year old and a 20 month old I would do another character meal. Maybe with Pooh at Park Fare or if the Crystal Palace is open during the time you go.. I think they make Disney very Magical. We love character meals and I make myself believe they are park of my budget!! :) have a great trip!!

Your plan looks good. I agree about adding a character meal. I would go for a family-style lunch because it's so much more relaxing than a buffet. We were able to use that as our afternoon break when our kids were 8, 6, and 2. We love Garden Grill for a late lunch (fewer patrons = more character interaction) and are also going to Tony's. I would think a character meal would appeal to this age group more than the HDDR.

Looks great, but in the past Pizza Planet hasn't been open for dinner.

Thanks for your feedback everyone! Good to know about Pizza Planet and dinner; maybe I will switch Prime Time for dinner and PP for lunch. And I am thinking about Crystal Palace now instead of CRT. It looks pretty, we all like Winnie the Pooh and the food selection is great! For Hoop Dee Doo we aren't bringing the baby- my mother in law is going to watch him back at the room. I think my 5 year old will like it tho. :bounce:

Crystal Palace is pretty, but it's big, bustling, and noisy. It's not as relaxing as GG, but we would repeat it with no hesitation. I would do a Pooh lunch there over a lunch at the castle. Leaving the bb with Mom for the HDDR is a good move. Have a great trip!

You should try to eat lunch at the Castle. It is very good and the setting is beautiful. Dinner is even better because sometimes Cinderella makes an appearance and... if you book it right, you can view the fireworks from the inside of the castle.
