Feedback on Backstage Safari!!!

I'm going to WDW in Sept and I wanted to do a tour, specifically Backstage safari!!! I was wondering if anyone else has done this? I would love to hear your opinions on it. It says no guaranteed animal interaction, but I would really love to get up close and personal w/the animals. Did you get to see or touch any animals???

We took it in October and recommend it highly!! As noted, they don't "guarantee" any animal interaction, but we did pet a rhino, hold a snake, and got pretty close to an elephant. There are several "presentations" from some of the animal handlers, several back area stops, and a "personal" safari ride at the end.
All in all an excellent way to spend the morning at the Animal Kingdom park.

I did this in November - have to say I <i>really</I> liked this tour!

We too got to pet a Rhino and touch some sort of lizard thingy (can't remember it's name though) plus got to see backstage by the Elephant enclosure, and at Rafiki's Planet Watch and also where they prepare the feed for all the animals, etc.

It was a great tour - worth every penny!

We did NOT get to touch the rhino, giraffe, or cockatiel we were shown during our tour. We had a large group, and in my opinion, our tour guide was the weakest of 4 various backstage tours I have taken. Even with all that, I enjoyed the tour tremendously.

Loved it. Got to pet the rhino--and they brought in a snake--at which point I left the room!!! They do not promise that you'll get the opportunity to pet one of the animals, so don't sign up with that in mind. On the plus side, we got to see the new baby elephant and she's adorable. She and her mother were out on the savannah early in the morning; she was about 4 months old at the time. Too cute. They were separating her from the 8 year old boy elephant because, like a typical boy--he was teasing her! If you love animals and how they are cared for, go on this tour. Very educational and fun.
